Ingredients list from bottle
Filtered water
Sugar
Lemon juice
Natural flavour
The % numbers you see reference a single serving (of which I assume there were a few, since this was a large bottle).
Consider how much lemon you actually put in lemonade. Then consider that you reduce that by maybe half, and replace it with "natural flavor" instead.
Because what is actually happening is the juice, while not concentrated, is heavily treated and resembles nothing like lemon other than being highly
acidic. That is the "lemon juice" being used in those drinks. Same with orange juice, which is disgusting to think about as a processed item (it
gets colored back to orange from yellowish white while being stored).
So the nutritional value of vitamin C you are getting in a single serving is miniscule. 2tsp of lemon juice has about 2% of your overall daily need
for vitamin C....and i'd bet you get less than 1% (or insignificant) in the processed junk by the time they pasteurize the product, then add in
natural flavorings to make up for the facts that the juice is probably over a year old by the time you drink it.
