He is right. I will quote from our Super Moderator Maria_Stardust above this reply:

"Ours is an intentional system of checks and balances, so that no one branch of government carries more political power than another. For the president to wield more power than the other two branches would essentially amount to a dictatorship."-Maria_Stardust

Madam Moderator put it quite well.

i nursed my aunt through removal of a brain tumor fall of 15
there was bizarre behavior
there was pain pre and post op

are you also going to advocate for a rep being allowed to work on pain meds? or perhaps the phenpbarbitol used to prevent swelling that causes stroke or seizures asdociated eith brain tumors?
are you now a mccain supporter too?
bet you supported palin too?

as i posted earlier
nice words in his speech
too bad he ment none of it
he and the other gopers had plenty of time to have an actual plan to fix healthcare
it is obvious NONE of them want to

his actions betray his words

The surgical scar on the scalp would hurt.
Not the brain. The brain feels no pain.

And he came back to vote. He's not back to work.
He's got lots of chemo and recovery to go through.
He sure didn't sound incoherent when he spoke yesterday.
Did you even see it?

Yeah if only we controlled the house and the Senate and the executive branch then you'd see some progress. Then you'd see a bill worth writing into law.

Oh wait... And while we waited to get to this magical place where we have so much power we had seven years to come up with something better. And sat with our thumbs up our asses. Sorry America.

But John's speech was not exclusively or even mostly about healthcare. It was about civic duty to America and her people. It was about the sanctity of public service. And responsibility and responsible behavior.

No one said it did.
But it wasn't meant to be his swan song.
It was a reminder of why they were there in the first place...the American people.

Not gonna happen with this group.
The only plan they want is what we had before. Nothing.
Medicaid for the very poor and the elderly. Medicare for retirees.
Everybody else fend for yourself.

I'm not a big fan of John McCain, but I can agree with his speech reminding our representatives we have a system of checks and balances. We can't have a president dictate or threaten members of congress if they don't agree with him. Blind loyalty silences constructive criticism. It pressures our representatives to remain silent and ignores the very people they're supposed to be representing, their constituents.

A president and one individual senator are not equal. Not in politics. As humans they are equal with equal rights. But remember, the president is elected because they are the best deceiver around.

McCain should retire, he is still messed up from that tumor, he is probably also on meds that can effect his judgement.

Pointing out you're off topic, and that your personal feelings about McCain are irrelevant here, isn't me making it about you. It's letting you know you were, and continue to be, off topic.

I'm really not sure how you agreeing with me that your opinion is irrelevant is me lecturing you. Particularly when I also stated my own personal feelings about McCain are as irrelevant as yours.

Your continued attempts to a) portray me as a McCain supporter with nothing to support that and b) try to bait me into defending an explaining something you've created entirely within your own mind shows who here is really trying to make this about who.

Take your straw man doll somewhere else, champ.
