A METEOR with the explosive power of TEN cruise missiles has struck the Moon

Despite the meteor’s tiny proportions – about the size of a small boulder and the weight of an average 10-year-old boy – the impact damage was colossal and the explosion shone with the brightness of a magnitude 4 star.

A similar strike against a city on earth would create a crater 65feet (20m) deep and create a devastating kill zone equivalent to TEN Tomahawk cruise missile striking in exactly the same place.

“For the past eight years NASA has been monitoring the Moon for signs of explosions caused by meteors. “They’ve just seen the biggest explosion in the history of the program.

Can you imagine how psyched they were/are?

“It exploded in a flash 10 times as bright as anything we’ve seen before. Anyone looking at the Moon at the moment of impact could have seen the explosion – no telescope required.”

I'm in hopes video will surface - the source site has a video from the 2013 strike.
The article goes on to say NASA is developing in conjunction with ESA (European Space Agency) on a craft they hope will be up and working in 2022 - a craft designed to redirect asteroids that threaten earth.

Old video of actual impact back in February 2013.
Posting an article with video from may 2013.

***watch about 45 seconds and beyond***
www.space.com...

"NASA moon monitoring telescope captured the blast, which could be seen by the naked eye on Earth, on March 17th, 2013. The object was the size of a small boulder and may be part of a meteor swarm that also flew past Earth.
credit : NASA"

The moon having no atmosphere, gets hit often.

Yes, that's why I said I'm in hopes new video will come out as that's an old one.
Interesting none the less but I want to see the one that happened last night.
Thanks!

Don't you find it weird the article goes on about how NASA is following all this and there's no video?

Nothing on YouTube yet.

Seems there's something fishy but maybe not - just strange nothing has come forward yet.

If the moon it hit off its axis.. things will get interesting for sure

Moon will hit earth
Moon will fly away and we will have climate chaos
Earth will be pulled into the sun by the moon
Moon have cracked and we will have global fireball showers

Nasa is and has been tracking NEO' near earth objects for some time.

NEOWISE
Remember, it's a Big A$$ sky. Can't see everithing, and if we do catch an asteroid impact.
That's a one in a million capture. Nasa has a contest a while back. 35k for amateur images.

Thanks for the info - but that's the video from 2013 also.

Something should show up soon I would think?

The moon has been hit many times before- hence all the craters and pockmarks. It would take something far bigger than usual to knock it off the axis.

First thing I thought of was a book I read a long time ago.
I got massive chills reading the title of this thread. Lol

"Life As We Knew It" is a book about an asteroid hitting the moon and tipping it. The after affects are world wide volacanoes erupting, massive tsunamis, and insane weather patterns. Survival at it's best.

The stories seem to be all about the 2013 one NASA has nothing about this on www.nasa.gov... that I can find nor elsewhere.

Ten Cruise Missiles? Trump threw 59 at Syria and it wasn't very impressive.

Yes, it will take at least something the weight of a lazy teenager.
