Well, I was sorta making a distinction between viewing porn and making porn.

And I agree, actual sex offenders (any flavor) should be locked up.

Theres a difference though between people who watch rape and murder on daytime TV and those who commit those crimes.

This is such good news. As far as I'm concerned pedophiles are the scum of the Earth and I really hope that children are saved from these abusive situations as a result of this. From what I know of the DarkNet most index sites (pages that list all the market places and sites on the darknet) consider pedophile web pages as pariahs. There are a few darknet blogs and hactivasts that dox pedophiles and provide lists of their details - it seems that most of the drug dealers/etc on the DN draw the line at CP.

Good. Hopefully they can skim the IP's of those 87,000 users and snag some more sickos.

Yes, however there is no difference between someone who abuses children and those who view/trade indecent images of children. All the latter does is increase the viewer-ship of those indecent images and then as a result more are made to satisfy the demands of the community.

Those enablers are just as guilty as the actual abusers and should be punished in exactly the same way.

Well yah, mostly (as it turns out) because it was done to them when they were young.

No excuse really, but altogether different (imo) than the sexual predator that enjoys inflicting harm on weaker victims, be they young, old, female or whatever. The actual abusive people that make those videos should be focused on , not just those that view their 'work'.

Specifically, pedophiles are only interested in pre-pubescents. Teens do not fall in to that category.

There is a small problem wherein, the attitudes like the ones expressed in this thread will keep the overwhelming majority of Pedo/Hebe/Ephebophiles being able to openly talk about being Pedo, Hebe, or Ephebeophiles; it drives them into cloisters where they only receive support from others like them, because of people wanting them dead for something out of their control. (The attraction itself - I'm not talking about actual child molesters, those we can absolutely bring public hangings back for)

You're comparing this to watching TV? Really?

The comparisons that you're drawing just don't work. A sexual predator could watch a movie about murder and not kill someone, however show them a movie about the sexual assault of a child and they may just go out there and copy what he sees in the aforementioned movie. If you have a predisposition toward children, you will abuse them, whereas if you have a predisposition for murder then you'll murder.

It's not just about what they're watching, it's about the type of people doing the watching.

in my personal opinion, the attraction itself should only be discussed with a licensed professional, under a closed door setting, with the proper tone and assistance.

they *should* be afraid for talking about it openly. it *should not* be talked about openly in a decent and morally conscious society.

if i was a blatant and aggressive racist, *should* i talk about it openly in public if i feel like i can't control it? no - if i personally want my behavior to change, i have to direct my point of view to someone who is qualified to help me climb out of myself in this regard. it shouldn't be a public discussion to mull over.

the way i see it, there should be no public discussion about this. there's no merit, nor good reason for it. why would i want to understand a pedophile? who cares to show sympathy for someone like that? all i want is for them to stay away from children - i don't care what it takes, and it's not my problem until they make it my problem. once they do, there's no need for a discussion.

I like the way you think. Also, I believe that urges can be controlled if you don't give in to them. For example, before I took my vows I was a practising bisexual man. That however is not allowed in the church, so for the last 17 years, I have been living as a heterosexual man. I still get urges, which makes my wife laugh, but I never act on them because of the vow I made and because I'm married...albeit in a celibate way.

Only weak-minded fools can't control their urges and they always have an excuse why they can't. Makes me sick really...

As much as I applaud any website and owner that is shut down and prosecuted, I am far more concerned with getting those who traffic and trade these poor children. One website shuts another 10 open. Getting those at the very top should be the priority, cutting off the hydra's heads. Shut off all access to this stuff for the perverts and stop fulfilling their fantasies.

There have always been paedophiles and probably always will be but the internet is now making it easier for those that may never have acted on their urges to do so and its a very lucrative business. What did these creatures do before the internet? They had to rely on secretive contact magazines or hide in their basements and people generally got to know these weirdos but now there appears to be no stereotype and it seems to affect anyone from Church leaders to CEO's to Police to Rock Stars. Were these people always paedophiles or did ease of access pique their curiosity? Who knows but I don't think its a mental illness, I believe its a choice and obsession

ditto. i think that this point of view you're expressing above is spot on, and it looks like we both have some first hand experience to support taking this hardline approach. the way i see it, your statement is one of the most difficult and inconvenient realities of the human condition.

i have my demons as well, but my consciousness and willful focus on how my actions affect the people around me behooves my sense of self responsibility. if i don't care about myself, it's clear that other people will. i'm just as responsible to them as they are to me. this tacit social contract is all but lost on so many of us, it's hard to believe that it was ever a functioning concept.

What I find unsettling is the number of people who only speak about what to do with the adult child abusers.

What about the child victims?
I'm not hearing much concern on their behalf, just more virtue signalling against the adult perpetrators.

The internet generally trades on the vulnerable and gullible and again its down to money. The unscrupulous set up websites that they know will make them cash, regardless of the content, and often those that run the websites have no interest in the subject matter they simply want oodles of dosh. Look at all the ads on the webs for things like penis enlargement and breast englargement pills and such, we all know they are crap but we also know that people are generally so insecure they will spend thousands on pills potions and surgery to make them feel better. Sex sells and as such is damn good money so its hardly surprising that over the years the web has gone from soft porn to unimaginable hardcore stuff as those running the sites try to attract more revenue and as a result people get curious.They may only log onto a specific site once, but its then in their head and they can't unsee it and it may be possible that exposure and curiosity lead them further down the rabbit hole of perversion without actually being a paedophile themselves.

Humans are curious beings and once something is banned or taboo they want it all the more or want to know what all the fuss is about so they will go nosey. If there was no readily available content, these people would never be put in that position of "should I shouldn't i have a quick look". I believe once you start, the addiction to seratonin and other pleasure chemicals takes over. Look at the furore over Facebook and all the teens killing themselves for likes or doing ridiculous dangerous stunts to be noticed. We are all hedonists we all want pleasure and seem to be in a constant search for the next great almighty high, the one that will keep us "there" forever, but of course that doesn't exist and the search continues.

I forgave my core abuser before he died a few years back and was really surprised at the weight that was taken from my shoulders. Then the rest of them ruined it by continuing to come after me. This year, it's been 5 years since I was last sexually abused and 5 years where no-one has come after or found me...I did move to the opposite end of the country though and then lost myself in the arse-end of nowhere. A grown man shouldn't have to hide like this.

This is why I'm so passionate and unforgiving about capturing and punishing sexual predators in the most severe ways. No child, or adult for that matter, should have to live the life of fear and trauma that I do.

I'll be looking over my shoulder until the day I die...and I'll always be what they made me rather than what I had the potential to be.

Like I said "Kill them all and let God sort them out"
