Iran holds Trump CARICATURE Contest has 1,614 entries

Iran has hosted the "Trumpism Cartoon and Caricature Contest" on Monday

The comp saw 1,614 entries from 74 countries. Several of the cartoons depicted Trump being tortured, sh*t on, wearing diapers and depicted in Nazi uniforms alongside Hitler. The winning image was by Iranian Hadi Asadi whose image portrayed Trump with his hair on fire, face snarled mid-rant, using a stack of books as a lectern, wearing a suit of US dollar bills.

I'm all for freedom of expression and art but I wonder how anyone would go hosting a Mohammed Caricature competition. I thought Iran was a 'friend of a friendly country'? I wonder how Trump will react to the news.

'I wanted to show Trump while trampling symbols of culture,' said Asadi, who drew the cartoon using a stylus pen over two weeks. Two of the four Americans who submitted cartoons also won awards for their works. American Robert Jones Clayont's cartoon shows two issues of Time's Person of the Year, one with Trump on the cover and the other with Adolf Hitler. In the cartoon, Trump says to Hitler: 'It's a great honor'. Hitler responds 'Ja'.

Cultists? I would attribute that credit to the anti-Trump crowd rather than the hopeful Trump supporters.

What you fail to understand is that the Trump train are expecting him to f#ck up just as much as you are. If he does, the Trump crowd will shout the loudest. If you hate the guy that much then just wait for him to fall on his sword. I would hazard a guess though, you shout loud now because you know he's untouchable.

I thought they where both piss poor leaders. Trump a retard and Hillary a symbol of the politcal elite and TPTB.

Given a choice I would have choosen Trump over Hillary simply because Hillary wanted to start a war with Russia with a syria no fly zone.

But that does not mean I like trump or any sort of fan. I would only have choosen him as I dont fancy WW3.

Ideally I would have prefered the USA to actually have a brain and in the primarys choosen Rand Paul for the Repulicans and Sanders for the Democrats and have had those two battle it out (my support us for Paul).

Okay. First of all I'm British.

My outlook is far beyond the two party system, the whole thing is a con. Exactly the same in the UK and pretty much every country in the civilised world.

The game is rigged and Trump is a part of it, you need to stop pretending to yourself that Trump is even a factor in the grand scheme of things. Seriously.

if a person stated or wrote " i want to set the presidents hair on fire " - it would be seen as a threat - yes ? , so how is a cartoon of the president with his head on fire different ?

i think this is great. Westerners usually think of Iran as a boring, islamic desert country with no sense of humor. This kinda proves they have a sense of humor and they accepted applications from other countries. Not must of a surprise an Iranian won however i will always support art, creative expression, sarcasm, comedy and the like. They should make this an annual event as long as Trump is in office.

the apparent hypocrisy about Muhammad doesnt bother me. Muhammad was the founder of the religion and Trump is just a president, so not really a worthy comparison. If they had a contest goofing on Jesus that would be a more apt comparison.

in any event, i see things like this as openings into a culture that is normally perceived as very closed and guarded. I think the more people do things like this the more easily other softening, liberal, freedom producing influences will be allowed.
