I had heard about this a few weeks ago.
When local people started to post on social media that they would be there to kick some ass, the ANTIFA people pulled back.

They seem to be doubling down on stupid now!

I hope your right though!

Guaranteed though if they start throwing feces filled balloons with nails at the PSP? Well, it will make some awesome youtube videos of ANTIFA being put down!

I hope you are right and PJ was late to the punch on reporting. I really don't want to see a cemetery desecrated because a bunch of brats can't handle the thought that the "wrong" people are buried there.

I'm not a fan of the Confederacy since they believe whites are superior to blacks but at the same time I believe that Antifa shouldn't desecrate their monuments and graves since they are very much a part of Southern heritage and plus it means erasing history.

(For those wondering what my ethnicity is, I am a non white American, so don't call me a white supremacist)

explorepahistory.com...

"Without a doubt, the Bucktails are Pennsylvania's most famous Civil War unit. The regiment first formed in April 1861, when Thomas L. Kane sought permission to raise a company of riflemen from among the hardy woodsmen of McKean County. Each man who came to the regiment's rendezvous point wore civilian clothes and a buck's tail in his hat-a symbol of his marksmanship."~linked article

At any given time I'm at Gettysburg, these guy's are dressed for the period piece. They are a proud bounch of extended history. They do NOT take kindly to any protestors. The rifles you see on these guys are very real. Lead and all.😉

Off topic: if you filed your taxes this year..... you'll notice a NEW MARY JANE TAX that collects money for something we here in PA still don't have for Medicinal purposes.

The Confederacy and the South are far more complicated than simple white supremacy. I know that's the easy answer taught in American education today because it's a lot of what I got, but I have had a fascination with the subject of the Civil War for a long, long time and delved into the subject.

There is a lot to not like about it but it's far more complex than simple white supremacy.

Um ever heard of the Cornerstone speech? This was said by Confederate vice president Alexander Stephens.

Our new government is founded upon exactly [this] idea; its foundations are laid, its corner-stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth

However, if you have an explanation for this please tell me.

Maybe the ANTIFA bastards need to take a tour of the battlefield while they are in the area and learn just a bit about what went on there.
How many men died or were maimed for life?
How the combatants on opposite sides met at Spangler's Spring and peacefully shared the water at night, even though they were shooting at each other all through the day.

Who would dare to desecrate the graves of any of those men?

Lincoln didn't want blacks equal to whites either. He didn't want them as slaves, but he wanted them sent to Liberia.

You cannot white wash that anymore than anything else. When I said there was a lot not to like, I meant it.

ANTIFA doesn't care! They even hate the Progressives/far left Liberals who they use as their allies! FFS, they call each other Comrade? Sad thing is, they are nothing more than history repeating itself and they represent the Bolsheviks! They are the main reason the Federal government needs to withhold all funding to our colleges who are indoctrinating these lost souls to believe as they do!

Odd as those who are against religion indoctrinating people, yet these same people support this kind of mind control????

I know about that too. In fact in my college, they even acknowledge Lincoln didn't really care about black people. It was only the Radical Republicans after the Civil War that did.

Now don't get me wrong, I do admire some parts of Southern culture such as Southern hospitality and some of its traditional culture but my point is we shouldn't celebrate the bad parts of the Confederacy and Southern culture like some people do such as its racism.

There is a difference in a "celebration" and an event that acknowledges an historical event and pays homage to those ancestors that died during that historical time.

Anyone else find it sadly amusing when some people will take the small percentage of racists that fought in the civil war and use it to paint everyone that fought for the south as a racist... heck some of those actual racists changed their stripes after the war and spent the rest of their lives fighting for the rights of the newly freed.

But these same folks will turn around and argue till their tongue falls out that 1 Islamic radical terrorist does not speak for all of islam.... just makes me want to go... well which is it??

But on Topic... I certainly hope the State Police hand these jokers their back side... and if the cops do not do their job.. I hope the people are there to prevent any desecration.. and hand out some old school Karma.

I think a good idea would be to round them all up and take them to the nearest army training center and enroll them.
For basic training make sure their training sergeant is black and after training they MUST do two years on foreign assignment before even being allowed to leave the army. If they don't comply, in the brig until they do.
After two years service if they haven't learned their lesson sign them up for another two years.
No exceptions, senators sons, judges sons (or daughters) no get out, all to do service to their country.

I had the exact same thought.
Here's a pic of the 50th anniversary get together from Gettysburg:

If those men can put aside their differences after doing their best to kill each other for 5 hellish years certainly we today can do the same. If not, we have lost the great qualities that make us all Americans.

The problem is as a minority living in California, they try to distort the image of the South and paint a different picture by calling them a land of racists. That's why many of us tend to dislike the South.

I in the other hand, want to learn from their perspective and hopefully clear up some misunderstanding. In fact I feel like the South are unfairly painted in a negative light.

My knowledge of the South comes from To Kill a Mockingbird and History.

...Antifa which plans to burn Confederate flags and desecrate grave stones.

Well, I suppose they can burn all the flags they want, but desecrate a grave in Pennsylvania and they can do two years. Sounds about right.

I support a persons right to protest, as long as it is done relatively peaceably. However, they show a clear lack of honor by choosing to protest at this venue, particularly at the proposed time. It shows an incredible lack of knowledge about the history of this country. Abraham Lincoln, in one of the most well known and perhaps the most artfully crafted speech of all time, honored all of the fallen men, not just the Union.

It is particularly ironic that in choosing to protest just against the Confederates, they are implying their support for Lincoln and the Unionists. I believe that Lincoln was our greatest President. However, he may have been the most fascist of all of our Presidents. He suspended the writ of habeas corpus in the first year of the war. When SCOTUS overturned his decision he simply ignored them. He imposed martial law in certain areas, and he curbed the freedom of the press as well as the right to free speech, not just in the South, but throughout the North as well.

The members of Antifa should spend more time reading and learning and less time protesting, IMHO.

The trouble is you can't fix stupid. Giving them military training may not be in our best interests...
