Flavor saver.
I have a beard, but I can't stand a moustache.
When it starts tickling my upper lip it gets shaved.

Hello Abe Lincoln.. Your beard is slipping... hahahaha

All big beards look unhygienic whether they are or they're not. When they're long I call them ''menu beards'' because I always think you could see what that person had for breakfast by looking at their beard.

Though, I think most men with beards grow one for macho man reasons. Are they also fire hazards? Blowing out those birthday candles looks dodgy with a big beard, maybe I should invent special little beard fire extinguishers? Will Dragon's Den tell me they're out or am I onto something?
. Also, if you're bald with a beard, your head looks upside down.

I'd swear it was Duck Dynasty that started this new hairy fad off.

Challenge accepted. This pic is a year old. I buzzed my whole face and head for Movember (except for a short goat). My beard is currently just a bit shorter and my hair is considerably shorter. (my beard grows about an inch a month while my head hairs grow much slower)

I don't understand the men in this thread saying beards are uncomfortable. The longer a beard gets, the less itching occurs. Comversely, I've found regular shaving creates a lot more suffering. Miss a day or two and the whole mess itches like mad. Add in the fact that my wife loves my beard and complains of razor burn when I have shaved, and it's pretty much a no-brainer.

As to all the "following the hipster crowd" nonsense, I'm an original in this regard. Hipsters ripped off rednecks and hillbillies, hell, maybe muslims did, too. All I know is that I come from a long line of heavily bearded men and I've never seen a compelling reason to veer from my roots.

I've had mine for a while now, not sure how long really. Didn't grow it to try and fit in with the hipsters, just simply got tired of shaving every day. Like many people have already stated, food isn't an issue. If you are a clean person, it's never an issue. If you eat like a 1 year old, maybe you'll find some stuff in your beard.

Funny thing is, I did grow mine in a sort of rejection of shaving but I don't let my hair grow. I use clippers and keep it short. It's something I tried on a dare 15 years ago and I really liked the look and ease of taking care of it. Now I'm thinking I should shave the beard and grow the hair! That would really throw my friends off!

Long beard, short beards ect.. are attractive to me. My man has a beard and he looks attractive with it. :O

Men with beards (different types)
Joe manganiello, Hugh Jackman, Norman Reedus, Jeffery Dean Morgan

Idk why but older men (like 40-50) are more attractive with beards.... I'm 25 years old *shrug*

Beards are fine if they are legit.

What i can stand is the trend for emasculated metrosexual looking hipster dorks wearing beards. I look at them and im like who are you kidding. Growing a beard isnt going to make you any less of the weak man you are.

While im ranting whats with the stupid manbuns. I have long hair. Curly ringlets that hang past my shoulder blades. When my hairs not down its simply pulled back and tied off. I would never ever put it in a bun though. Thats some lame hipster stuff. Youre not a samurai warrior or something.

And finally for you hipsters. Stop wearing pants so tight that your balls need a password.

Heres a clue. Wanna feel like a man. Learn to do some manthings like bait a hook. Or frame a wall. Not being intimately aware of every latests clothing trend or hair product. Growing a beard isnt going to make up for the 99 percent of the rest of you thats lacking.

Next on my list. Guys who are clueless with coopted tattoos that have serious implications or meanings that they have no inkling of. If i see one more wannabe from trustfund towers or richboy heights wearing a spiderweb tattoo on their elbow im going to call them on it.

Also anyone notice the trend of putting brazilian jujitsu stickers all over your car even though you went to two classes in your whole life. Its like a new version of the tapout trend.

Nope. Beards never went away.

You claim Duck Dynasty, but I would say ZZ Top, and before them God alone knows how many Folk Music artists, rockers, and going back further still, outdoorsmen, wood workers, metal workers, real men with real work, and bigger things on their minds than having a face like a freshly plucked peach. Your farrier, your gunsmith, your blacksmith, your Chieftain, your warleaders, your fellow warriors. Beards have been dominant since time was time.

One minor issue is when you shed a few hairs from your clean well groomed longish beard ...
They can be percieved as pubes ...
I know the way out.

I wonder how many plates get sent back with a hair in the food?

(shed hair takes on a life of their own!!

I love having things sprout out from my face on a regular basis
its a joy...
if I don't shave I start growing hair on my cheeks just below my eyes
If I never shaved i'd be a yeti

I love my beard.

When I'm thinking I can stroke it all thoughtful like. If you do that without a beard it looks like a school photo pose or something.

It makes me look a tad older on account of the two grey streaks I have in it, which is nice when interacting with folks because they usually listen to what I say a bit closer. Especially younger people.

When it was longer and when I had long hair my friends called me Jesus. It was the only nickname I was ever given, so thanks, beard!

When I actually do shave it off every couple years my daughter doesn't recognize me, and now that she's older she says she doesn't like my 'naked face.' Heh.

It's fun for you and a group of your dude friends to all grow out their facial follicles and form a Beard Force.

My wife likes it and, most importantly, admits it's my face and that she did once have that haircut I didn't much care for so there's no room to really whine about it.

Cleaning it isn't that big a deal, just shampoo that bad boy and give it a good comb through.

The only time I've ever had stuff get in my beard is when I let the mustache hair grow too long; it's annoying feeling that on your lip anyhow so that's taken care of pronto.

My beard, all in all, has been better to me than my baby face ever was. Thanks again, beard, for all you do.

While it's definitely obvious this is all a matter of opinion, and it could also be argued that facial hair/no facial hair look different on differing facial structures..me personally...a nice beard is sexy as hell. (Again, nothing wrong with a clean cut man) but yes, a bearded man is oftentimes viewed as manly.

As a young girl, facial hair was not something I was into. At all. It's the same way with chest hair on a man. As a young girl, the idea of chest hair was off-putting. But now, as a young woman, chest hair...facial hair...it makes me think "manly man". Which is what a lot of women are attracted to. (not speaking for all women.)

And the idea that someone thinks it is unsanitary is a little bit of a stretch. Unsanitary, disgusting and uncleanly people will remain so with our without facial hair. Facial hair is not synonymous with filthiness. Especially nowadays with so many men embracing the bearded look. There are so many products now that are specifically for the grooming of a man's beard

And on the issue of smoking...that's a false correlation..as not many people smoke anymore....so not entirely sure where you're drawing the connection between the too. I don't like smoking..but that's just me. If you are a smoker, I'm sure a man with a beard that also smokes will not bother you. You don't like smoking? Don't get with a smoker.

tldr; Men with beards are sexy.

The beard is a wonderful thing. It take patience and commitment to grow a full beard.
I don't understand why you came to this forum just to post this #e.

I mean its no different to saying "Fat people... their disgusting. All they do is sit on their arses all day eating doughnuts".
Its disrespectful man. Please get over whatever issues you have, because I'm sure your far from perfect.

Maybe you should post a picture of yourself so everyone can comment on how attractive you look?
