However, the rest of the apologist rhetoric from ATS members in this thread is the real issue here.
So you have a problem with free speech or just "Biggie Prostate"?

I suggest you understand what the 1st amendment protects us from before accusing anyone of free speech violations.

To me, by not thinking it is a big deal to wish someone DEATH, it makes you part of the problem. This type of hateful rhetoric MUST stop...it is not productive and only encourages escalation on both sides.
Just stop it already, and don't accept it as "normal", because it is not normal.
Democrats have already shown they dont support his actions as he has already been fired. What more do you want from them? Give him a welcome in congress after assaulting a reporter like a GOP congressmen did recently?
If you read my postings in the thread, you would see I acknowledged the Democratic party for dismissing him was a good thing. However, the rest of the apologist rhetoric from ATS members in this thread is the real issue here. Constant deflection using unrelated examples, like you just did above.

I didn't say anything about the 1st amendment. I understand that the constitution and the bill of rights only limit the actions of the government. That isn't what I'm talking about.
I brought up biggie prostate because I would have thought that joking would serve as a distraction from the real issue but somehow that didn't phase you at all, at least not enough to warrant a response.
I'm seeing a bit of a double standard there.

example of what? someone who doesnt want a rediculous woman hating, pro-lifer, bigot religion pushing person in power?
Oh no, another one of those, sorry (not)

I fail to understand how not falling for an obvious (and even admitted) deflection from the topic at hand is akin to a double standard.
Are you now the voice of the ATS members in this thread that are in support of accepting advocating violence over a differing political opinion?

It's funny until there is a current of hatred running through a large ideological population.
It's not shocking any more.
I remember having a conversation one time with a Russian fellow. We laughed at how in the 80's, we'd have been trying to kill each other. We drank and laughed.
That's where I see this now. We can have a drink, tell a joke, laugh.
But there are too many in your ideological camp that just want me dead for not believing the same as you do.
Just look at the hatred over healthcare.
The very idea of removing an entitlement has caused death, threats, violence.
We're at the onset of a civil war. I get mocked a lot for saying that, but I think it's true.
It will get worse before it gets better, sadly.
Sorry 'bout the rant.

Yeah, it was scary with all the hatred towards Obama and his family, called racism. I think the "hate" for trump is bc he is a racist bigot...or sets himself up to look like one. Now that he is president, there's a lot of crazy racist out there who think they can speak thier hate freely and the "leftists" will fight that.
I'm not saying shooting scalise is right, I'm actually not talking about that at all, just pointing out that one side is more racist and the other side will not tolerate it.
It's not leftists hate ruining things and shooting scalise...but you guys can twist it any way you want...it's a free country...still...I think

No, that's not what I'm saying. I don't even know you. Actually I kind of feel like I do and I don't think you are.
The racist are the ones making fun of his big ears, calling Michelle an ape, calling for him to be lynched.
How do I know all this? I follow extreme right websites and Facebook pages. They are horribly scary. That's why I am sure to differentiate a respectable republican like you perhaps from the deplorable racist scum I have come into contact with online AND in real life.
It's out there, it's ugly and scary.
