This is what it has escalated to today. If you are unaware, it is because the CIA is making sure the only thing you hear, see and read in domestic media is TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP either good or bad.

Anyways a few hours ago an embedded journalist in Syria, Sulome Anderson quoted a top Hezbollah commander as follows:

"We are in almost open war with America. Prepare yourself for a big fight after Ramadan, on all fronts." -Hezbollah commander to me

Ok, well as much as they have a right to engage foreign fighters that have illegally occupied allied territory, it is not a fight they are going to win. Although air strikes are likely off the table west of the Euphrates after the Syrian jet shoot down fiasco, they did move the HIMARS into Syria for a reason I assume.

Likely backing them will be Iranian air power in the form of UCAV's they have stationed in Syria as reported a few days prior

NBC News
WASHINGTON — Iran has established a drone airfield inside Syria not far from a U.S. military base, U.S. officials said Tuesday. The airfield may be the source of drones that have recently threatened U.S. troops.

According to two U.S. defense officials, the Iranian airfield near Palmyra, Syria, has a ground control station for operating drones. The U.S. and the coalition have a base in At Tanf, Syria, close to where the Iraqi, Jordanian and Syrian borders intersect, 80 miles south of Palmyra.

The Iranians have been basing Shahed-129 drones at the airfield, according to the officials. The Iranian-made drones can be armed or used for reconnaissance. Neither official could say for sure whether either of the two drones that the U.S. has shot down in southern Syria flew out of that base, but both said it was likely.

Did this threat to our forces did make the nightly broadcast??

The Shahed-129 drone has been deployed in combat already to attack targets, as well as monitoring a CJTFOIR drone before coalition forces engaged and neutralized it.

I will try to keep update on happenings at the coalition base in at-Tanf near the Jordan/Syria/Iraq border region in a separate thread here

I had no idea things were getting this bad (from the sound of it). I bet if anything the neocons and Military Industrial Complex is salivating at the idea of actual declared war with Iran...

The US has a base set up in southern Syria, near the border with Iraq. Allegedly it's purpose is to facilitate strikes against ISIS, but it's location suggests that it's mainly to protect Rebels in the area.

Given that Iraq is now pivoting toward supporting the Syrian government, I'm thinking this base might become fairly untenable in the near future.

Iran only has 1 drone capable of carrying weapons and thus far we have shot some down. What you left out of your post is the fact the area in question is a deconfliction zone. Secondly we already stated numerous times we will defend allied forces that are fighting ISIS. Each time an incident has occurred Syria / Iran have violated the zone and intentionally targeted NON isis groups. Each time they were warned away by US airpower and those warnings were ignored.

You want to go after ISIS thats fine.. have at them.

Anything else though is a problem and Iran / Syria wont win.

The base is located at Tanf. It is on the border of Syria, Iraq and Jordan.

As a side note Israel recently announced that if a war breaks out with Lebanon again it wont be like the last few times. I get the impressions Hezbollahwill be wiped out.

America has no right being in Syria, sanctions should be placed on them until they get out

The CIA must have compromising material on POTUS and are able to do what they like now

Won't a war with Iran/Syria, ultimately, lead to war with Russia?

Sounds like things are going to escalate into a major world war shortly. Is everyone prepared for this? Does everyone have food to buffer the lowered availability of food supplies? I see problems in the near future all over both Continents, maybe South America will be the best place to live, but then again, they have a lot of bugs down there and learning to live there would be a chore of it's own.

Tough... ISIS has attacked Europe and the US. We have every right to be there to end that threat.

I see the USA biting off too much at once...

the Syrian fighter kill was a message to all sides that the USA is gonna carve out a Fortress State, a USA & Kurd Zone that is destined to survive Iran/Hezbollah/Syrian & Russian aggressions

the USA see the crumbling of a sectarian Iraq force which will be pushed out of the primarily Shia populated Eastern section of Iraq as it unites with Iran

just wait till the Turks cut off all landing rights to the USA & coalition airforces on Turk airbases very soon...
I reckon that's another reason for the carrier stationed in the Med.
the USA is also still calling the shots on Qatar which the Turks abhor as a slam on the Ummah (community of Islam)

the future trends was already posted that the Revolutionary Guards in Iran will motivate their suicide-vest army of 10,000 to accompany the armed forces like Hezbollah in destroying the Fortress State airfields used by the USA & coalition air forces

Oh please it was your CIA who started ISIS after Assad broke the back of the rebels who the west was training and intending to do Libya mark 2

YOU have no right, your nations actions in Syria and other countries has been dispicable and they should be held to account for the wrongs committed

1 - The fighter kill was a message to stop attacking US allied forces fighting ISIS. Syria needs to concentrate on fighting ISIS instead of using them as a screen to attack others.

2 - If Turkey opts to not allow US / coalition forces use of their air bases we will do what Germany is doing and just shift to Jordan. We can also continue to use our aircraft carriers.

Either way a stupid decision like that on Turkeys part wont have much affect.

My friend, YOU are a wealth of knowledge on complicated geopolitical topics and economics. I've recalled numerous times in which you've enlightened me about the IMF, World Bank, and military geopolitical conflicts. Thanks for explaining this so well

The Syrian government disagrees with you -

Syrian Foreign Minister: The US Said 'We Are Not After The Syrian Army' Before Airstrikes

Last month, al-Moallem warned at a news conference in Damascus that any strike that was not coordinated with the Assad government would be considered as aggression.

But on Monday he denied saying that coordination was necessary, adding that Damascus was satisfied with simply being informed of any U.S.-led action, which he said the Obama administration did before the start last week of the aerial campaign in Syria.

He said the U.S. government sent three separate messages to Syria 24 hours before it launched its first airstrike on Sept. 23. The messages were identical, he said: "We (the U.S.) are not after the Syrian army or the Syrian government."

He said there have been no further messages as the U.S.-led coalition has ramped up its bombing campaign, "but it's OK."

"Until today, we are satisfied. As long as they are aiming at ISIS locations in Syria and in Iraq, we are satisfied," he said.

Asked about Syria's position on the five Arab countries that have joined the bombing campaign in Syria, al-Moallem said: "We were not asked about them, it's up to them."

"As long as they are hitting ISIS" Syria would not criticize their participation, he said.

This is from 2014 so maybe you should get up to speed as we have had approval from Syria to attack ISIS since then.

maybe not much at first... but the whole region is evolving beyond what our Military Chiefs of Staff presently forecast

after Ramadan... the escalation begins, the unity grows, the reversals of allegiances then follows...

None of which affect US air power.

Secondly Turkey is still not a fan of Assad and I dont see that changing anytime soon.

I don't know why the US got it's nose into Middle East issues in the first place. We need to get rid of the people trying to get control of the whole world that reside at the top of our society. Why do we have to insight them to fight each other, can't we leave them be? Not all religions or nations want to take over the world, the Muslims were arguing among themselves because of differences in their religions, now many of them do not like us for the chaos we brought on them.

Outstanding WSC !!

Your analysis is in-depth and on target.
My greater fear is for that of Snoopy and Andy.
I'm very pleased to see someone here who fully understands the unique complexities of the engagements at hand.
I look forward to your commentary.
