I saw this article yesterday and don't believe it has bee posted here yet but just how stupid, incompetent and inconsiderate can cops and their supervisors be to hold a drill like this without notifying anyone in authority where the drill is scheduled to be conducted. LAMO to the N,th degree.

www.wftv.com...

A kidnapping drill by troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol went horribly wrong when teens, and some troopers, thought it was the real deal.

FHP is investigating the unexpected drill that happened while the teenagers were in Tallahassee for a Girls State Program, a government leadership camp put on by the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Florida.
Cameron Carlyle, the counselor for the camp, told Channel 9’s Jeff Deal that she wasn’t even told the kidnapping was a drill.

Carlyle said Tuesday night the Girls State director and six female troopers decided to do a mock abduction unbeknownst to anyone else at the camp. They pulled aside a girl from her group on the way back to the dorms and hid her.

OH THE FRUSTRATION! STUPID COPS!

Carlyle said the troopers screamed at her and later the other girls and told them the missing girl had been kidnapped, likely sold as a sex slave to human traffickers.

One girl had been involved in a real sex trafficking case when she was younger, troopers said.

Honestly, it sounds like the troopers were criminally negligent. How can you claim a girl was kidnapped and imply it was possibly an incident related to human trafficking and sex slavery, without any sort of explanation that it was a drill beforehand?

I feel bad for everyone of the victims here. Those troopers and whoever oversaw this "mock drill" should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Sounds like a real crap show. I hope some people lose their jobs for this, It's just plain old stupidity. If the individual in charge who had this idea was able to LOGICALLY rationalize the choice, then they have no business at all even operating a drive through window at mcdonalds.

Also, there is a sliver of a chance that it turned into a "drill" after the fact. How do we know there wasn't some questionable criminal motive from some of these people. Only to fall back on the "drill" when they realized it was a horrible idea.

Either way, heads should roll.

Government and law enforcement "training exercises" are getting ridiculous, as this story shows.

Last year, around Fort Myers FL, a volunteer for one of those training exercises was killed when a dumbass cop put real bullets into a revolver being used in the exercise.

The tail is wagging the dog, for sure.
