I will add that I myself posted here some of the false statements that were reported on the news.
Not intentionally I can assure you.
Just an attempt at informing the threads about what was coming out as events transpired.

My point is that 24 hour news can be a blessing and a curse.
I'll repeat, if this event has been cynically twisted to use against the British public then it is beyond disgusting.
Theresa May has been proven time after time as a liar and has no right to the position she holds.

The incident is already sliding in terms of importance in the news coverage but the exploitation is only going to intensify and become the accepted norm, nobody is going to have any interest in investigating what actually happened, because they already know and the only thing that counts for those people is what political advantage can be gained from the hype generated, both sides of the political spectrum are benefiting equally so the consensus will not be challenged.

Except you are forgetting that he has been arrested and will presumably be charged, he will be legally represented and tried in public, so yes, it will all be investigated and we will indeed know what happened in due course.

It's already known what happened, the legal process will involve that he pleads guilty and doesn't speak a word in his own defense, he has run over a group of individuals within the side street and there is a possibility he'd been drinking, so the charges will involve murder/manslaughter/grievous bodily harm/actual bodily harm/DUI/reckless driving, and that will continue to be interpreted as terrorism.

I am waiting form more details before I make a judgement (as it seems you are), but no matter what this is a tragedy and I hope all of those still in the hospital make a recovery.

If it turns out that this was an accident or DUI, it won't matter. The narrative has already been accepted by the media and politicians, and if the story now changes, people will scream that it is a conspiracy to keep a white man out of trouble, and there will be blood in the streets.

This man is going to have take a hard fall, regardless of what his motives were, or there will be violence.

It's being reported that the one person who died at the scene may not have died as a result of the impact...but was already being attended on the ground for a medical situation before the incident.

For the record people who know him say he's a billy hunt,who shouted a lot at his partner and kids and was thrown out one of his local boozers recently

the National front near him say he was not a member so I'm guessing his anger issues come from online forums dominated by no life far right users who's comments pushed him over the edge to do what he did

Were witness accounts saying he had a knife proven to be true or false?

There's been no evidence seen to indicate such and a lot of the early false reporting can be attributed to Buzzfeed.

From everything I have seen written about this guy, I think he may be autistic. If he suffers meltdown due to drink, he can easily learn to control his impulses, (should he choose to do so).

Your take seems to be the most likely to me, the actual facts don't matter to those whom would attempt harvesting political points from the incident.

The reports that have been shown to be false will still be used to make the case for 'terrorism!'

Sky is now reporting that this bloke was thrown out of a Cardiff pub 24 hours before this incident shouting about how he wanted to kill Muslims and that this was reported to Police.

This seems to knock this "accident" theory on the head.

Indeed and the fact that he rented a van and drove it , literally to another country to commit his terrorism act. No accidents at all here, probably just an angry forum poster brainwashed by other angry forum posters like somebody said here earlier. Those are not just words on a screen to the most impressionable minds. When the cop run through his browser history they´ll probably find something there.

Early in the thread, I had asked if the van's speed had been reported.
At the time, it had not.
I believe the speed would actually shed some light on the driver's intent.
Has anyone, come across this information in more recent reporting?

Many initial witness statements on other aspects of this tragedy have previously been proven to have been 'inaccurate', as has already been pointed out on this thread.

The speed has been estimated by the amount or absence of damage to the front of the van when hitting the bollards and the fact it has not progressed right through them, also that a 90 degree left hand turn was executed in a high sided van and the car parked in the alley was not hit to any significant degree, probably gone round there a little over 20 mph, don't think he'll be charged with speeding.
