I am really annoyed right now

I replied to a thread and all it shows is the first line of my post yet when I hit "edit" it shows my entire post. I don't know if it's me or what. I have used Chrome (grrrrr) and Safari, they both show the same thing. Can ANYONE tell me what the heck is going on? If others can see my reply then I won't worry but what would cause this? I'm so confused. I have never had this happen.

I am on a Macbook.

Check that there isn't an accidental quote tag or something in the edit. Happens to me when I break up a quote and forget to put the / in the end quote tag.

Yea I checked all of that and it doesn't show. Maybe it's on my end? I don't know.

Here is the thread. It's my post at the end. It only shows "This is why I still come to ATS" It shows nothing after that. I took a screen shot of the edit page and it shows everything but when I post it shows the first sentence. Can you see my entire post? Maybe it's my laptop?

I have had some problems with ATS using Chrome, as well. I could not log in, and could not request a password reset unless I was in Incognito mode for several months. Even after returning all privacy and cookie settings to default.

I haven't used Chrome in forever but I wasn't able to do anything with safari when it came to uploading pics. So I use Chrome because it allows me to upload pics. I also use to ALWAYS make threads from my iPhone but now I can't upload pics on any of my iPhones, all up to date and current. So I use Chrome just so I can upload pics, but even on Safari I can't see my entire post. I don't know what has happened! I want to make some threads like I use to but if I type out an entire thread with links and pics I will be pissed if it doesn't post right! LOL

Could be the heart sign sign you've used. Try taking that out in the edit and see if it works.

Try deleting the love heart or boobies thing on the end of the first sentience.

The mods told me, after helping me recover my account (a ridiculous and arduous task), that admin was looking at potential site code functionality problems with Chrome. No idea what that entailed, if even anything.

As an aside.

I use Chrome on my phone and Firefox on my laptop. FF seems to be less laggy and buggy to me.

That worked! I would have never guessed it was that. I use to use that all the time before and it was never an issue. It's been a while since I posted on here like I did in the past. Now I know, don't use hearts! Everything after the heart was BLANK! Now my post is fixed!

Thanks to you and pheonix358!

It's actually the less than sign and the 3 combined. In HTML, the less than sign is the start of code so it's possible the code on here interpreted it as one.

Yup apparently that is all it was. It's < 3 but together and it makes a heart.

I won't use any Apple code from now on. LOL

Oh, that's all? That's not even Apple specific as far as I know. I guess the character before the 3 prompts the post for some variety of text or hyperlink change that was never closed out.

I've had similar issues with firefox, on some posts.

it will show the first line, but seem to cut the rest of the post off. if I quote it, I see the entire post. and it ain't boobs or hearts.. lol

it's a new thing. only of late, and rare. annoying to have to his quote to see someones post, even if rare.

btw, good to see you still on Mblah
miss your recipes.

No I make hearts all the time that way on facebook and have for years. The way I remember it on a PC was sooo different. It involved the semi colon and that's all i remember.

I don't understand code at all! I wish I did. Oh how I wish I did!

Yea apparenlty the < symbol which is before the 3 isn't liked here. I use to use it all the time and have for years on various forums and Facebook like daily! Now I know it's not for ATS!

badwolf!!! Hey there! Nice to see you too!!

Yea I have been busy for the last 4 years with my son. I didn't have time for anything other than reading ATS plus i didn't have a laptop anymore and my desktop is a pain to be on with a toddler who wants to sit on your lap and see what you are doing. Now that i have the laptop he isn't interested and it's portable! I bought specifically so I could post on ATS again. I have soooo many food threads I want to make! I have some of my son even. He is a little cook at 4! He love making meatballs and chicken parmesan. He will coat the chicken and everything, adds all ingredients and will check on his food while it cooks. He is such a mini me! He's been in the kitchen with me since birth! He has his own kitchen on the porch fully stocked so when he helps me cook he gets his own supplies! So recipes will commence soon!
