Great point!

Now is the time (if we haven't already) to re-learn some of the important skills that brought humanity this far. I have picked up gardening and canning/food storage in the past couple of years and am learning (gradually) about growing one's own food, and medicinal herbs.

I have a long way to go before self reliance, which is where community comes in (as you've pointed out).

Death is not the worst fate one could suffer! Let's take the example of the state ordering me to murder or be murdered. If my strength lies in serving only good, I will refuse the order of the state. Some can not be bought off by money, power, greed, or fear (of death etc). Whether the few heroes who would rather die than submit to evil are motivated by religion, or by another noble sentiment, the result is the same (good sometimes prevails-- and this DOES happen!).

I'll say again, a corrupt state does not want competition when it comes to authority. It wants whichever rules are expedient to their own good- which, as one can imagine, is not in accordance with God's law at all.

I think they know perfectly well.. I think the hypocrisy of their souls screams out at them every waking moment and they live in constant torment... and in order to take away the pain they brainwash themselves with weak political arguments. Hence the strong reaction from the media and political establishment against those who expose them for being frauds... it causes them too much pain to be reminded. I dont know.. just a theory..

but it's the reason I absolutely cannot stand politics.

The reason I brought of psychopaths is because that is how they are described. Your theory does not take into account psychopathic behavior. Again, you are looking at it from your personal POV and trying to imagine how scared these "people" must be except that they may not feel fear the way you think they do.

I'm nobody and even I wouldn't feel what you describe, screaming souls and constant torment sounds too much like religious fear-mongering.

All I have done is point out that your theory is subjective and also that it is not logically sound. That is supposed to be how discussion works.

Hey Oracle, I am on board with your idea of focus on the positive.

I'm really interested in creative ways to combat the nothingness, which is why I posted this thread.
