Thinking out loud...

Hodgkins on could not have gotten the gun locally... the gun laws there are crazy, especially with an out-of-state ID. He had to have brought the gun with him. That means he didn't fly, because guns are not allowed on planes. He had to drive.

I'm trying to remember how long that takes... looks like at least a 12 hour drive from Danville on the Illinios/Indiana state line. He had to have driven at least overnight, and it is my experience that very few can drive straight for 12 hours and still be able to do what he did.

I guess it's possible he got to DC earlier and was already there, but that is even more disturbing... it means he had this planned for days. This was, either way, NOT just some guy who lost it! This was an assassin.

Someone earlier mentioned he had a business of some sort? Or am I mistaken? Why would he leave any kind of decent life, drive a couple days, and risk his life to attack Republicans? This ain't adding up.

Thanks for bringing that too, all those acts promoting violence as in plays, shows, TV host talks and the media is triggering very unstable people in the nation.

But I am sure that those behind this type of propaganda knows exactly what they are doing and the results is what they are expecting.

The present administration needs to come down one way or the other, so casualties are all part of the game.

And as long as we keep blaming religion, or race, or political affiliation, or whatever for these tragedies we fail to address the root cause. Mental healthcare is a joke in this country with a hefty stigma attached to it. Especially for those living in minority communities.

Now am I saying the events of this morning would have been prevented if this guy was seeing a shrink? No. But it probably would have done more to prevent it than if the media toned down their political bias.

In light of the seriousness of what's happened and apparently reasons for it as demonstrated on FB posting history of the identified shooter it'd be appropriate for the left to not attempt to spin their spin in trying to separate themselves from this incident.

You own it plain and simple!

Violence has been promoted since before the election at Trumps rallies and let's not forget bike lock beating, comedy beheading, nor, assassination theatre.

There is a general undercurrent of tacit approval for the radical element on left that has encouraged the more crazy among you.

Some contrition is in order, not spin, not anything but a good hard look in mirror.

I also would encourage folks on far right not to over react and give time for proper steps to be taken by our lawmakers and law enforcement.

To borrow a saying from CTH, Cold Anger! cold anger to reign in an out of control press, out of control unelected beauracracy and the fires they fuel in reactionary elements on the political left.

The guy was perfectly sane enough to make travel plans, plan his weapon and methodology and carry out planned attack.
