I'm an old guy. Never seen this film nor the animated version.

Had no reason to. I always figured, "chick flick" so why bother. But the wife. You know. So we watched it.

It was a nice story. A nice love story.

It'd be a great date film for the younger crowd, a nice movie for us older types who still love each other.

(we danced in our livingroom when they did dancing)

There was controversy with "gay" characters. Who cares?

In that time period, they didn't even have good dentists yet everyone has nice teeth!

Just enjoy the story.

*heart*

Haven't seen the new one yet, but the original is one of my all time childhood favorites.

The auto-tune on Emma Watson killed some of the songs for me though, I'm sure plenty of people had similar experiences. I just can't get over the fact how noticable this was, and that they went along with it (over dubbing or smth).

Everything else was fine, even LeFou being gay (let be honest, he always was). I even shed a tear towards the end, when the ending theme kicked in.

Perhaps I should give it another try then.
The wife and I started watching it one night, but then it went immediately into a song. We looked at each other and i got up and turned it off.
Just wasnt in the mood for a musical.

Is it anything like John Wick 2? Is there a lot of over the top violence?

Sure! Dancing on dust particles certainly caused the gruesome death of a great deal of mites.

Can we not call this an investigation please, and just call it a "matter"?

It's pretty much an exact copy (scene for scene) of the original Disney movie. I grew up seeing it in dutch, so I don't know if it's the same word-for-word, but from my recollection (been like 10 years since I seen it), it's an exact copy.

So if u didn't like the songs back then (or don't like songs in movies in general), I doubt you'll enjoy this movie.

And again, the auto-tune on Emma Watson is dreadfull, I can't believe they went with it.

I haven't seen the movie and can't say I really care of I do or not, but I have a question.

Doesn't this movie have a young girl getting kidnapped and then falling in love with her kidnapper?

I mentioned to the wife that the chick had Stockholm Syndrome.
