Camera-trap footage from Kalimantan (Borneo) showing an unidentified species of feline predator.

Researchers from Indonesian and British universities set up the camera. They’re keeping the exact location secret for fear of poachers.

The jungles of Southeast Asia still hold a myriad of surprises.

Looks like a small headed short haired cougar.

Cool.

The lesson here . . . don't leave your small dog outside the tent while camping in the jungle. Because it will be that cat's snack.

That is pretty darn cool!

Glad they're keeping it hush-hush. Probably aren't a whole lot of them.

The tail does not look like a feline tail, almost looks lizard or kangaroo like.

Be interesting to see if they can get more data (without shooting and dissecting)

Are we sure this is real?

Nice find if it is.

But that's not an unidentified species, that is a Bay Cat. It even says so in the title of the video. They are considered an endangered species, so it is rather exciting to catch one on a trail cam. They are probably keeping the exact location secret to protect it from poachers.

My thoughts exactly! Every so often they find a new species of animal/reptile/insect in Borneo. And the fact that after all these years we (well they to be honest) are still discovering new species just supports the fact that cryptids may very well be real.

It moves like a claymation stop motion figure. Weird.

Gorgeous animal. But I can't help but be disappointed that the video is only like 9 seconds long when clearly they had at least a few more seconds of footage

Amazing, looks agile as hell with that physique. The body proportion tells me this can jump HIGH. Possibly tree to tree, with that super large tail for balance..

I'm no expert though.

So beautiful.

This is not a new species, they have known about them for quite a while. They are very rare though. Nice find. Some dentist in America must be already planning a trip to borneo

WTF?!

Someone domesticate it!!!!!

Sorry I like exotic looking kittys kats- anyways that's a really cool discovery. I can def. say I personally didn't think we'd be discovering new animals that are bigger than a dog in 2017. I figured we'd be saying goodbye to the animals we've known and loved as they are hunted to extinction....

I sure hope they are able to keep this cool cat and it's family safe from jerks while they study and gather information.

I'm stunned by how beautiful and muscular it seems, and that tail........ wow! That's somethin' else for sure.

Ok, I'm a complete moron in the morning. When I read your thread title, I came thinking I would see some weird alien Predator stuff and kept thinking "Stupid cat, get out of the way, I want to see what's stealthed!".
