Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said on Tuesday police were treating a deadly siege in the city of Melbourne as an "act of terrorism" after a claim by the Islamic State group that one of its fighters was the gunman responsible. Police shot dead the gunman, Yacqub Khayre, who they said had a long criminal history, on Monday after he killed a man in the foyer of an apartment block in Melbourne, Australia's second-largest city, and held a woman hostage inside.
In December 2014, a gunman killed one hostage during a 17-hour siege at a popular Sydney cafe. Another hostage was killed by fragments of a bullet fired by police who stormed the cafe and killed the gunman.

Governments don't tend to own guns, that would be the army and the police force....
You do realise that your government was elected by the people to serve the people? Where you get this idea that one day your government will turn on the people and massacre you all is beyond me, your grasp of politics seems lacking somewhat.
Also, They have drones, good luck with that....

Your argument is not really relevant... A terrorist attack without guns kills less people, that's just common sense...
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to prove with your post....?
Yes, we had terrorist attacks here, as are happening worldwide at the moment, I would postulate that had the attackers had guns many many more people would have been killed and injured.
I assume you were trying to prove that the UK is still a dangerous country because these attacks have happened, and that if we did have guns they wouldn't have happened....
False logic my friend.... and simple delusion...

Good thing to know the Army and police forces are not part of the government.

I would continue to argue that it is considerably harder, MUCH harder, to kill someone with a hammer than with a gun... And you need to get one hell of a lot closer!

hahahaha - are you serious, in Australia the Police answer to a political (State Govt) minister and the Army answers to the Defence Minister(also Political) ...unless you're talking about the separation of Powers?

Tell me, of all the terrorist attacks in the united states how many of them didn't feature guns?
Ok, I'll bite. There was the big one. You know, 9/11. No guns whatsoever. They used Assault Airliners.
And the OKC bombing.
We need to ban trucks too!
