Iran backed Shia militia in combat with Islamic State type groups

By type I mean same ideology. Iran backed Shia groups use Iranian supplied arms, such as green colored 120 mm rounds which contrast with Russian ones which are grey colored, and 107 mm rockets. Iran backed Shia groups never attack the west. They are the ones keeping Islamic State type groups in check in the Middle East.

They also support terrorism, just different targets. The reason they fight against ISIS in Syria and Iraq is because they want to continue controlling Syria and Iraq. They blew up the American Embassy in Lebanon in '83 and killed a lot of Americans, they are in control of Palestine and are responsible for all of the terrorism that comes out of there. They are not nice people.

I think it is important that people understand the different sects of Islam.

Shia Muslims are more moderate by nature than Sunni for instance. Sufi Muslims are quite mystic and generally harmless too.

Shia Muslims are not considered as 'true' Muslims by the Sunni lead Wahhabi movement and are the target of attack by IS et al.

A good analogy would be to compare with the different sects of Christianity;

Shia Muslims are reasonably chilled out, but not considered true Muslims because of their interpretation of the Qu'ran - Catholics fit this bill in Christianity.

Sunni Muslims are your hardcore Qu'ran preaching types - Your bible focused Christian Churches

Sunni Wahhabi are the dangerous ones. They are the hardcore televangelist fire and brimstone preaching type. And unlike Christians, are motivating their flocks into murderous acts.

So, in short, the Shia Muslims have just as much to lose as we westerners do. If we better understood Islam, we would ally with them and work against the Sunnis. But there is a big problem with that......

Saudi Arabia, who is USA's big mate is both Sunni and Wahhabi.

So we see our governments courting with the devil at the peril of the people they are supposed to govern just to maintain access to cheap oil.

Attacking 'those type groups' is attacking the West. Rather, the covert western backed Insurgencies , currently directed towards "Libya-izing" Syria.

They resent US meddling in ME affairs, obviously. Its not the "US of Middle East".

I don't disagree that they have their justifications but so do ISIS. They're still terrorists.

Though painted as diverse and seperate, they all tend to mobilize together when offensives start against Assad. Like after the 59 cruise missile strike on that Syrian airbase and the 'mistaken' bombing of Syrian ground forces in Eastern Allepo. These events are planned in advance and coordinated intentionally, not spontaneous actions.

Of course we don't see the '21 flavor' insurgency offensives in the main scream, just the blame assad media campaign. The efforts of insurgents are left out entirely or shown as bumbling amateurs.

The totally unfortunate thing about all of the Islamic issue is that good old Russia, enemy of the west has actually woken up and read the situation correctly. They back Iran (a Shia nation) They back Assad in Syria because they recognise the disaster it causes when you implode governments like we saw in Iraq and Libya. (Iraq is largely Shia and Libya mainly Sufi BTW)

The USA is therefore reluctant to 'do the right thing' for two reasons; Saudi Arabia is Sunni Wahhabi and therefore not likely to be supportive of attacking the Sunni insurgents in Syria. The second issue is pride - it also has to admit to Russia and the world that it has backed the wrong people. Something it seems incapable of doing.

I do get annoyed that west corrupts itself for Mammon to wahhabis and use people ignorance of the different groups/sects to promote regime change that instead amplifies the Sunni/Wahhabi fundamentalist side.

But at the same time Islam (both Quran and hadiths) is a gathering of very contradictory ideas that as a whole breed us vs them narratives (dualities). If people only read Sufi mystics like Rumi then duality dogma would decrease from my point of view.

One good thing about the west is that we to some degree have outgrown Paul and Abrahamic Jews duality teachings in the bible. Many can see that non dualist that follow the golden rule and karma can coexist (Buddhist, Taoists, Jain, Sikh, Hindus).

If majority of Muslim where reformed in Sufi (non dualist) ideas then the duality dogma (us vs them) separation would lessen.
