ETA - Jeez, it's like curmudgeon central in this thread lol. All we're missing is someone saying, "Call this music? It was proper music in my day."

Damn straight, gimme some Lynyrd Skynyrd, some Journey, some AC/DC, that's music.

Eh no.

English speaking people im talking about. Helping their own.

Whats your problem with that?

Oh so now it's English speaking people we help first?
Glad I speak English and not Arabic if I ever get caught up in some terrorist attack.

Chances are if you were Arabic, you wouldn't be harmed in a terrorist attack. Seems they went after whites. Or did I miss something? This attack was on Londoners at pubs, not Muslims at mecca.

My reply referred to the benefit concert not the risk of attack.
Far better being attacked as a Brit and not Afghan, no fundraising concerts for brown people.

Meanwhile in the news nobody is raising any money for the 80+ victims of a bomb in Afghan this week.

Actually, the UK gives billions in aid to Afghanistan. We donate to that crappy land through our taxes.

To topic. All credit to Ariana Grande and co.

As long as every cent or penny be it may goes to the victims and their families. Not to 1st class hotels, hired cars and fancy food or and I say or, to promoters. No performer must profit in the slightest in this case.

Let the performers live in the simple accommodation as the payers. Perhaps in the street or a bedsit.

My thoughts,

I haven't a clue who half these musicians are, me being an oldster But the crowd seem to be enjoying themselves. Good thing too, their city has endured much these last few days.

A very white crowd, though, I have to say. Surprising considering that excess tickets were put on general sale. I wonder why the local Muslim community hasn't turned out.

Anyway. Coldplay are on. I recognise them, just lol.

Watching some of benefit gig now on TV, absouloutley astounded I have never seen such a white crowd (except at a motorhead concert I attended and some country redneck gigs). It would be nice to have seen more ethnic diversity and some Islamic representation on the stage, to bridge the divide (I have only watched a bit so far, may be supprised yet).

To be fair I thought it was a good gig and Katy Perry's voice was actually OK, usually she is awful at performing live.
My favorite performances were Justin Bieber and Cold Play.

I always find Katty Perry lackluster live too, not a Miley fan but she preformed great live had some soul in her sound and has a nice presence on stage, she is maturing like a nice bottle of vino. Where is the love by the Peas was perfect for the instance. Did not know who Ariana Grande was untill two weeks ago, never been big on chart toping music.

Would have loved to see the Manchester crowd go off if Noel turned up for an Oasis reunion to belt out a few hits, sad he couldn't get his ego through the stage doors.

Liam slams brother Noel for not appearing at One Love concert.

Yet when 9/11 happened, the best acts were brit bands like u2, the who etc who rallied behind an awful act to support our allies. *SNIP*

We are all just words on the screen and opinions are all we have. Not much point in getting angry at others who have different views.

Don't stress too much

FWIW I was in Manchester for the big run and the atmosphere was perfect. Sunny day and everyone enjoyed themselves. The gig last night was excellent and probably brought peace to all the kids who attended.

I don't think your intention is to play pool together and buy me a pint though.
You are emotionally affected so I get your anger.
No benefit concert by US and Canadian stars for brown people who got blown up last week though.
I think that is a shame.
