Saudi Arabia just got one of the biggest arms deals in recent memory greenlit by Trump. Saudi Arabia is known to be the largest terrorist financier in the world and even though we are outraged by these terrorist attacks being carried out we seem to be overlooking the ones who are giving them their weapons and ideologies, Saudi Arabia.

We just sold thousands of guns, if not hundreds of thousands, to the world's worst human rights violaters and terrorist sympathizers. Is no one willing to acknowledge what a huge # up this was by Trump? This is the same guy who blamed Saudi Arabia for the attacks on 9/11 during his campaign only to turn around and sell them billions worth in weapons just months later.

Why is Trump selling guns to terrorists on one hand then saying terrorism needs to be stopped on the other? If you want to quell terrorism then the last thing you should want is guns in their hands, yet Trump and this current administration don't seem to care.

And yes, I realize Obama did the same thing and he's just as guilty as Trump so try not to deflect to Obama because I don't support him doing it either. They're both scumbags in my book but Trump is the current president and is who the focus needs to be put on, not past administrations.

So, how do we plan on stopping terrorism if we keep selling them weapons to terrorize people with?

I would not be surprised if liberals next move will be to call for the car ban, since nowadays, these sick retarded terrorists no longer use guns, but rather just cars.

If you want to stop terrorism ... Kill all the terrorists.

That should be the point ... not the collateral damage.

Kill all the damned terrorists ... and there won't be anymore. History lessons will stop their re-population.

In the wake of England's attacks you cite American policy?

Classy.

Yet another member using a fresh attack for their political views.

Disgusting

Actually liberals do want to make all cars electric and liberals want to go away from our dependence on fossil fuels..Libertarian Elon Musk recently proposed his underground tunnel system, other liberals have thought up air pressure tubes..so who knows maybe one day we won't have any republican cars anymore...

Ever seen an ISIS video? They're all carrying around guns, they're not just for show.

You don't care that Trump sold weapons to a known terrorist sympathizer and financier? That doesn't bother you at all knowing Saudi Arabia's human rights and terroristic record?

There's a quick way to settle this in your mind and if anybody else would like to help out here that would be great...

Riddle me this...

How many people caught/convicted of terrorist activity were found with US Government issued weapons and ammunition?

I'm being serious... someone find out... because like it's been said, I've only heard about knives, pressure cookers, boxes of nails, and guns you buy at the local shop.

Surprised Snarl. You know that up to now the war on terror hasn't succeeded. Primarily because of the militaries approach, every problem is solvable with arms.

Look at Afghanistan, the recent attack in the heart of the most secure diplomatic green zone proves theres no such thing as security.

Lots of nations will leave, stubborn ones will just add several thousand more soldiers. Eventually, they will all leave. People will always resist military occupations. That should be the lesson learned.

Afghan capital rocked by massive bomb blast

You guys are now deflecting to other kinds of weapons likes knives and cars. I never said that terrorists ONLY use guns.

But I see the regulars are already in here in droves trying to shut down any sort of honest discussion with their snarky replies.

Selling terrorists guns will only make our fight against them that much more difficult. You guys know that, you just don't want to acknowledge it in my opinion.

That's like a neighborhood gang going around robbing people by knife point then voting to sell them guns. "I mean, they were using knives not guns, there's nothing to worry about!" Not very logical.

It might save a lot of innocent lives in the ME...and that's just for starters.

It might also stop us creating more and more enemies.

Lastly, it might just show that as a nation we do have a moral compass.

trump, thinks the US is a business, and its not. There is a hell of a lot more to running a country than money. Like I said before so many ATS'RS voted and still support the man. He has no idea how to run a country, period. This is why I was forced to vote for Hilary. Well that and the man is full of malarkey, and as the Paris agreement shows, he is only about money and NOW. What is best for America in his eyes, is NOT what is best for Americas FUTURE!!! Also the "travel ban" he keeps talking about, was supposed to only be temporary, 3 months. Guess what people, if the travel ban against terrorism would have gone into affect, it would already HAVE BEEN LIFTED! So what in the last 4 months has he accomplished against terrorism with no travel ban, that could not have been done with a travel ban??? Nothing that's what!!

Of coarse the donalds sheep will just over look what I just said and defend him.

Well, a big conundrum occurs with this country, Saudi Arabia. What you report is accurate... it is one of the largest supporters/funders of terrorism. But, it's also the only ME country that endorses the Petro dollar system... the system of which funds to purchase bulk oil must be converted to the USD before purchase.

It brings forth the evidence that the Petro Dollar is MANDATORY to keep afloat for the U.S. economy to remain afloat as well. If the U.S. did not require the USD standard being propped up by the Petro dollar, then we would see a completely different economic/military relationship between the 2 countries. We'd also not see such grey areas of sensitivity be practiced between ideals and military... it's tough to cloud the connections when the obvious differences in ideals still manages to shed a cooperation between the military's of the 2 countries.

I just see it as a move that is necessary if the U.S. economy wishes to continue to trick the world into thinking it sets the standards. Add the military hardware being sold to all the other countries, and it becomes even more clearer... the U.S. is all about capitalizing on finances... human civil rights are secondary at best.

It's been the American standard for decades now... that we can settle in with the atrocities ourselves, so long as it stays out of our back yard.

Petro-Dollar, Saudi Arabia is America's most important ally. You have to think as a realist, the US is trying to maintain it's hegemony (as any nation would), and sometimes dealing with unsavory people and nations is a must. If the US wants the dollar to remain the reserve currency (and why wouldn't they?), they need to keep the petro-dollar alliance and Saudi Arabia strong, hence the arms deal.
