Police say 8 dead in Mississippi shooting

This happened this morning.

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) -- Authorities in Mississippi said Sunday that a suspect is in custody after eight people were killed in a shooting, including a sheriff's deputy.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain said the shootings occurred at three separate homes Saturday night in rural Lincoln County. Two of the homes are in Brookhaven and one is in Bogue Chitto. The area is about 68 miles (109 kilometers) south of Jackson, the capital.

Authorities from multiple agencies took Cory Godbolt into custody on East Lincoln Road Sunday morning after they say he killed eight people, including a Lincoln County deputy.

The deputy’s name and the names of the other victims, have not yet been released.

Godbolt fled from police and allegedly killed people at three different scenes in Lincoln County. He told The Clarion-Ledger reporter he did it because he loved his wife and children and he loves Bogue Chitto.

He killed 8 people because he wanted to die ??.... They should release him unarmed into an angry mob ,and let them handle it . ...or take him out back and shoot him slowly 8 times in places that won't kill him ,let him suffer , and then shoot him in the head .....yeah that may sound harsh, but I have no sympathy for people like him ....get rid of him . .....His actions have just caused a ripple effect that will hurt so many people, and for years to come...Kids looking for their dead parent ,family members crushed , friends distraught .....so sad .....I will be sending prayers for all of them .

I hope the tin foil hatters don't take the ball and run with it because sometimes a tragedy is just a tragedy and the MSM should give the families some space.

I thought of that already ....but nope, he still killed 8 others instead of taking his own life....he will never be sane or of right mind from this point on. ...we put dogs down for biting , we should put him down for killing .

It's a crappy thing to admit but my first thought was, oh thank god he isn't white. Sick of being labeled as the race of mass violence.

No. Sensory deprivation execution is the perfect punishment.

No sight, no sound, no sleep, no food-give these monsters the feeling of what it's like to be dead before they die because that's what they have deprived their victims of...everything worth living for.

Sadly, it is a problem with this species not a specific race. There are still humans in the many global gangs and even in some supposed legitimate faculties who still don't accept they are serial killers or represent them.
It is a sapiens sapiens issues, be well.

Once the dragon/malevolent sees its "mirror" reflecting back upon it, things should change physically & spiritually here...

Why isn't it being called a "mass shooting" by the media?

So your line of thinking is okay with a gov. that refuses to recognize
the possibility of a major flaw in several mental health depts. And
conglomerate pharmaceutical companies that together according to
a very large amount of evidence could share a huge responsibility
in the deterioration of their patients mental health? So we just
keep whacking the monsters and never consider the machine that
might be pumping them out? Why not just abolish the insanity plea
while we're at it and hope we never end up in that system?
