Hello everyone.

If you had been the one to had come the closest to the 'time' of the 100,000 post, what would you do with the e-mail acct given to you?

If I haven't been clear in the past, I'll make it clear now:

[size=10]I HATE SPAM.
I HATE SPAMMERS

There... just in case there is any confusion.

Also, some have considered me part of the problem since I run the Internet division of an ad agency. This is not the case... I serve on two industry panels fighting against spam, and have helped push proposals for real solutions. None of my clients spam... period.

As such, I am vigilant in managing strict anti-spam policies on my server (Digitalf8, hosts ATS, hosts ATS e-mail). Whenever I get spam (I get a lot) it goes into a spam filter I maintain myself. I also run active Spam Assassin which scans incoming e-mail for typical SPAM keywords and structure. While I dislike blacklists in general, I'm also considering using two which are rising to the top as the most reliable lists. I'm also experimenting with SPAM countermeasures designed to confuse and overload the SPAMMERS systems and techniques. So, our server is as nasty to SPAMMERS as can be, without willy-nilly blocking e-mail like some of the major services.

In my opinion, there is no single thing that threatens the viability of the Internet more than SPAM. It's even worse than hackers.

Oh, my. I admit I have spammed before. So has Mashimaro. We shamelessly promoted metatus.com (now gone, no need to look at it). Honestly, I do not get that many spams. I am not sure why. I guess I am blessed.

I know
that's why I said it. I wasn't accusing you of spamming, or anything. my main account is my university account, and it's darn near all spam these days. I think .edu email addresses are the first to be harvested for spam, just because they're likely to be active (it's the only way my school bothers to contact me these days) and they're easy to get (my school allows searches for email addresses right of the main page, and it can't be that hard to write a script that looks for all possible name combinations). oh well. I wish all system administrators were as vigilant about spam as you are William.
