Over 1000 posts on /pol/ and it seems to be going at like 10 posts a second. Can't tell what's baits and what's not. Hard to keep up. /pol/ is very good at digging for information fast. I'll keep an eye on it.

To inflict maximum carnage I'd suggest. Suicide bombers have been using such vests for decades, especially during the Palestinian uprising around 2000 onwards - ball bearings and nails were responsible for lots of deaths due to being strapped to bombers.

Just did a quick search. Did not know nail bombs were popular with suicide bombers.

As someone else said all but confirmed that there was shrapnel possibly nails in the bomb.

No confirmation on suicide bomber though.

You're welcome. I no longer do the job but like I said some bigger builders have bigger and better security systems so I can't vouch for the Manchester Arena. The equipment I used though .. wasn't far from being top quality

Why would a suicide bomber use a nail bomb vest?

You can place a nail bomb in a bag/garbage can, walk away and blow it from a distance/timer.

Because a suicide vest will be able to carry more nails less conspicuously than a package can. It is easier to conceal than a person dropping a package off and walking away. Manchester does not have trash receptacles (not many anyways) from the IRA days. The human body can also act as a weapon itself when exploded as you have bone /etc. It can create a biohazard as well.

What does me being a Trump supporter have to do with it? I'm just trying to point out the uncanny timing of Trump's anti terror speech yesterday. Is it possible that the terrorists are ramping it up because of the speech?

A bomb is just a bomb, be it a package, or similar.

A person wearing a vest full of plastique, nails, and other shrapnel materials, who chooses to kill himself/herself in order to spread their terror-message? That's frightening to most, hell, it's frightening to me...more so than a pipe bomb is. IMHO, of course.

The way the most basic nail bombs are made use pressure cookers or pipes. Bulky and meant to be dropped and walked away from.
