Saudi Arabia is not an ally. They might pay 350 billion to buy arms from America, but they do not share American values of freedom, democracy, respect, tolerance.

Yemen's former president Saleh was ousted in the Arab spring revolution. Saleh promptly placed his vice president Hadi in power in an uncontested election. Hadi was ousted again. Saudi Arabia tries to put Hadi back in power, to no avail so far.

And the arms deal isn't for $350B. It's $110B, with the POTENTIAL for $350B over 10 years.

America should ally with Iran rather than Saudi Arabia the way Obama did. Iran is a republic. Saudi Arabia is not.

Again, common interests. Iran might eventually normalize relations with the US, but I doubt we'd see an alliance any time soon. Too much bad history between them. Being a Republic or a Kingdom doesn't change those common interests.

Iranians are far more open and friendly compared to Saudis. There are thousands of Iranians students studying in the west. There are hardly any Saudi students studying in the west. Iranians are Indo Europeans. Saudis are not. Iranians have never killed an westerners. Saudis have.

Interestingly enough, Trump's son in law was just negotiating an arms deal with Saudi that included ballistic missile defense. The price was too high so Jared called the head of Lockheed Martin and asked if they could lower the price. They said they'll think about it.

There are more as well. They're using the Patriot right now, which isn't as capable. This isn't a case of "we're interested in THAAD" followed by "oh look, they suddenly used ballistic missiles on us, make THAAD cheaper". They have a need of a capable anti missile system.

Iranians have never killed an westerners. Saudis have.

Iran backed Shia militia such as Lebanon's Hezbollah and Iraq's PMU never target westerners in western countries. The only times they attacked westerners is against servicemen who were occupying Lebanon and Iraq to make them leave.

So what stinks about this. A Missile managed to land in Riyadh Saudi Arabia from somewhere in Yemen. So there is 550 miles of flight from the Yemeni Border.

So the Yemen Government has the tech to pull this off? Not buying it. Was it aquired by a foreign government... IRAN... South Korea...

And who launch this Missile? Yemen Government or the Terrorists within it's Borders. 🙄
Neither one has the funds to do this. Especially against Saudi Arabia if they know whats coming.
