Hi there,

Now this is the first post I've made about a UFO, and for the record I don't straight away believe it was aliens or some #, it is what it is - a UFO, I just want to share what I and a friend saw.

So we were having a cigarette on the balcony at about 2am, she had seen a massive shooting star earlier which I missed out on. Anyway it was a clear af night so you could see a lot of satellites going through the sky etc. My friend then got my attention and she pointed at something, at first I just thought it was a satellite until I saw how fast it was travelling, after it went straight in direction for a little bit it kind of did a massive 'S' shape manoeuvre before disappearing from sight.

The weirdest part for me is it's appearance, like it constantly looked like an out of focus star, even if you squinted (which usually works) it still had a kind of flare around it, even when everything else around it was perfectly in focus. It also had a reddish tinge, it wasn't a fixed point of light like a satellite or a star either, it's light source looked really faint.

My friend and I both agreed we saw the same thing, confirming it's faint colour and out of focus detail, we both have never seen anything like this before.

Looking back, it could have been a chinese lantern but it just looked way to far away, and not enough orange/red colour to be one, plus the way it deviated its course and did a perfect and massive S shape kind of throws that out of the question, I'm still open to ideas though.

Just wondering really if anyone else has seen something similar? This is my third 'UFO' sighting, funnily enough all 3 have been different.

Thanks

Interesting. Please share your other sightings too,as some one who has had quite a few ufo sightings myself its always fascinating to read.My last sighting was abour a week ago,a light that zig zagged across the sky.Covering large swathes of the sky between each zig and zag.As i said to my daughter who ever piloted that thing,ET or terrestrial, seemed blotto drunk because the movements made no sense.

I too love reading other peoples experiences, it's fascinating.

My first sighting was when I was probably about 11, was in the garden at night with my dad because he bought a new telescope, we saw what looked like a airplane/helicopter (Just had red, green and white flashing lights) but it was just it's movements that shocked us, like how it zigzagged and darted around until it was out of sight.

Second sighting I was on my own in the day time waiting for some friends in a field, was just looking up at the sky because it was clear as hell, i saw (again) what I thought was an airplane as it was just a faint white point in the sky and maybe you can guess but it was just it's movements again, how fast it was darting from one point to another but always travelling in the same direction kind of thing.

I don't really like assuming what it was that I've seen as it's most likely a good reason for it, at most I'd like to think it's some top secret government aircraft instead of visitors, but I'd be happy with any explanation

This did cross my mind, I remember reading about phenomena like that which cause light orbs and the like in the night sky, it's just extraordinary

Hi swanne
I am sorry to say i have no idea what that means, sorry i am a dunce when it comes to physics and science.A pity too,the most interesting fields imaginable and i am unable to comprehend so much of it.The zig zag thingy was really high up that's about all i can add.

Thanks for sharing
if you wanna read some of my sightings,i did make threads on a few on the site here.Ya wow the sky provides some gobsmacking sights sometimes..i live out in the African Bush, down in South Africa and here we have seen some Amaaazing things.I sometimes wonder if the American deep black programs are testing craft out here, seriously.

Almost certainly that's what it was, without a doubt.
(Care to cite the scientific data to back that up?)

It couldn't have been a "Chinese lantern" in that it evidently moved at a speed far above any apparent wind.
Of course, the typical explanation today is that it was a drone.
'Just couldn't be an alien ship or one of our own secrets.

that is almost exactly what I saw, except there were two of them, and only one zig-zagged. The fact that there were two, made me thing of military formation. But the speed and the maneuvers were unreal. It's my guess we have some amazing technology that just ins't ready for the plebes to know about.

There wasn't a green glow coming from the object by any chance? What's your rough location if you are willing to say ?

Edit: just seen your location on your profile. Any ideas what direction it was heading, east to west/west to east etc

after it went straight in direction for a little bit it kind of did a massive 'S' shape manoeuvre before disappearing from sight.

"S" shape maneuvering denotes a 'radius of turn', leading one to speculate (whatever) it was using aerodynamics to 'turn' in the atmosphere. Probably man made, since the most striking feature of 'UFO's is their abrupt change of direction at an angle instead of a slow curve.

No idea what it might have been, but dismissing a Chinese lantern based on the level of wind at ground level is baseless, it doesn't work like that. It would depend on height, size and distance, both of which with no frame of reference can be very hard to judge. The level of wind affecting an object such as a lantern doesn't have to be hugely significant to cause erratic looking movement, and in the OP it's stated that the erratic movement occurred just before it disappeared, suggesting either it was at a distance where it could no longer be seen, or in a gust of wind the flame had been extinguished.

There must be something wrong with my browser..
I can not see the pictures you took of the once in a lifetime potential ET close encounter experience..
gonna try later

Ah that's the wrong location, I now live just outside Cardiff in South Wales. I think it was going North/North East

The movement wasn't too erratic, it wasn't zig-zagging as such. It just sort of curved in a giant S but maintained the speed it was going

Thanks, I'm not for a second going to suggest I'm an expert, but that does sound possibly like something to do with atmospherics - wind. Easy for me to say as I didn't witness it I know.

Most curious! Doesn't really sound like a satellite, from the description you give. The blurring is interesting; perhaps like it was cloaked in some way? So, small like starlight or a satellite, but reddish, and blurry, and doing a weird maneuver. Cool!!

Closest I have ever come to anything like that would be a star that seemed to move, then move back, changing position somewhat. Well, did see an unidentified craft of some sort, but certain it was a helicopter, with the side extensions. Just didn't know why it was where it was, at the time.

Sounds like a cool experience. I've seen things in the sky mostly lights that move in a waveform pattern
