It was designed to fail.

In order to bring about single payer.

Which is what needs to happen.

What needs to happen is the World needs to boycott their bills to corporations and gov that does not scare about you and shut this entire nonsense system down. Reset and move on. Costs will be down for everyone and you will be able to haggle the price with cash again.

As for what the Democrats (or some) were planning if that point can be proven and explained to the American people the current Democratic party is done.

You just answered that yourself:

Gruber, one of the people responsible for getting Obamacare passed (and who called the American public, essentially, idiots / stupid) blamed Obamacare failure on Trump. He claims the insurance companies were making money until Trump was elected.

When Obamacare fails I fully expect Republicans to be blamed for it.

Yet, here we are.

I dont remember Gruber saying obamacare was designed to fail for other reasons. I do remember him saying in order to get it passed the american people had to be lied to (because they are stupid).

Insurance companies exist to make money first and foremost. That usually doesn't entail paying out for services (as this is a cash negative flow).

Those amazing plans you had before Obamacare were dirt cheap because the insurance companies had clauses after clauses stuffed into the fine print allowing them to avoid/reduce/delay payment on services so thoroughly that unless it was of minor consequence to them they could easily avoid paying.

Obamacare mandated they cover important things, and they weren't allowed to weasel out of it, ergo prices went up because they still desired to make as much as before (but now they're actually paying out instead of hoarding).

Ultimately the fact that insurance companies act as 'middle-men' in the process is one of the primary causes for ballooning healthcare costs. Single payer could be achieved with minimal tax increase through the use of direct service provider interaction (as well as open boarders pharmacological supply).

this must be fake news. I was just assured by the usual lefties Obamacare is super and lots of folks love it. When I said it was destined to implode, I was told I was wrong please ignore stuff that makes Obamacare look bad, it's got to be wrong.

Aetna is a major player. Has anyone figured out if this will leave any parts of the country with no Obamacare insurers?

Iowa and from the latest info I have seen Aetna is pulling out of all state exchanges / obamacare.

You moaners and pants wetters complaining about Romney/Obama/Heritage Foundation care are really confused. You either TAX EVERYONE through consumption taxes (think Malt Liquor, Budweiser, Wines, Cigarettes, etc) whereby the layabouts HAVE to pay their way OR, you revert back to a "free market" system whereby every lazy layabout gets FREE HEALTHCARE via me and you through every emergency room in the nation.....the cheapest way for the lazy to get free healthcare is to go back to what we had....we need single payer to make sure EVERYBODY pays their own way.

Aetna is the absolute worst. I work in pharmacy, and I have to deal with health insurance companies all the time. Aetna are the bad guys. Companies like Aetna are the real problem with healthcare and health insurance. Screw them.

It is.

It' was a 3 part plan, and part 1 was skipped, while part 2 and 3 were very expensive and detrimental to the economy without part 1.

Essentially it exists as a threat, as intended, until single-payer is addressed as the way forward, or absolutely not.

If the answer was as clear as 'absolutely not' right now, it would be eliminated and hated even by Democrats, until their snarky timebomb plan is addressed. The only certain thing is the longer it takes, the more it will cost.

I said this in the beginning, obamacare was created to crash healthcare so that the only outcome would be a single payer system

Maybe CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC saw what Gruber accomplished, and FAKE NEWS was born?

Is having the "worst", better than having "nothing"? That's what most of Iowa will have, unless the American Health Care Act is passed, or a ton of additional money is dumped into ObamaCare in the next few months.

If everyone is patient, Cali will test the Democrats intended solution for us. They are working single payer through their state legislature as we speak.

If it works there, really works, then maybe we can have this national conversation, but I don't expect that it will.

That's been the general consensus since ObamaCare began unraveling in 2014, and Democrats did nothing to stop the implosion.

But, I think President Obama was CERTAIN that he'd do such a good job as President, that a Democrat (Hillary?) would follow him. If that had occurred, we would indeed be headed for Single-Payer as ObamaCare's replacement.

While we're being "patient", do you think that the Trump Administration should ask Congress to "shore-up" ObamaCare with additional funds? That's the only thing that will make health insurance companies come back to the Individual/Family health market for 2018.

They lose money on ObamaCare customers. A government "bailout" would ensure that millions of Americans would have at least 2 health insurance companies/plans to choose from, starting on 11.15. 2017.
