California Wants To Give More Money To Eric Holder To Fight Trump ($858 million not enough)

I have an idea, how about enforce the law instead of using damned near a billion in taxpayer money to "enrich" lawyers and "preferred" people to fight Trump. They are not really fighting Trump you know, well maybe a little bit but most of this taxpayer money is being dolled out to enrich their political friends.

www.zerohedge.com...

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra apparently doesn't think that $858 million is nearly enough taxpayer money to fight the Trump administration. That is precisely the amount that California's state budget proposal, laid out by Governor Jerry Brown in January, allocated to Becerra's Justice Department but in testimony before the Senate Budget committee yesterday Becerra said he needs even more to attract and keep qualified lawyers to defend the state.

Of course, the additional funding request from Becerra is even more questionable in light of the fact that California recently retained the law firm of Obama's former Attorney General, Eric Holder, to also fight the Trump administration. You just have to wonder how much of that incremental funding over and above $858 million will make its way into Holder's pocket?

Here's a radical idea Mr. Becerrra, how about you just do your job and simply enforce the laws of the land rather than trying to bend them to fit your own personal political beliefs. It would save California taxpayers a whole lot of money.

California is full of #.
Cut the general funding if they're going to waste it fighting the federal system. Let them succeed, they can become their own little third world dictatorship run by some committee of people with desk jobs. It would be a good lesson for people with the Cali mindset.

Quit wasting my tax money.

Even if they got their way they'd only impeach this guy and get his vice president, who seems like he's a fan of the dark ages.

If you're going to fight the system, fight for a better system.... Not this.

Gotta keep those Liberal Federal judges on the payroll, rubber stamping anything to block Trump. Having Holder involved is just.....priceless. The AG that helped Obama sidestep or ignore the law at every turn, is now whining about the legality of Trump's EOs.
You just can't make this sh** up.

That is the problem... within months they would be broke and they would cuddle up with China. Then China would be building up military forces there.

Let them do it, all the federal government have to do is cut the funding for the state and let them foot their own state bills.

Let see how much they can squeeze from the rich in the state.

Federal funding of state is not an obligation is a contract.

That shouldn't be legal to do in the USA. If the tide was turned, I would say the Democrats would be suing any state doing that kind of thing to Hillary and California would be initiating the legislation in Congress..

You are really showing ignorance here. Ca is one of the largest economies in the world so to say they would be broke in months is nonsense. Also Ca also pays in more to the Government than what it gets.

No the way to punish california is keep them as a state but stop all federal funding and access to fed resources. And jack up the tax rate of california itself to 75 percent fed tax. Just take from them do not give back any.

Not for much longer (if even true currently).

www.politifact.com...

In 2007 California received 78 cents back on every dollar. In 2014 they received 99 cents back on every dollar.

The LAO also cites figures from a March 2016 report by the Pew Charitable Trusts. It found the federal government spent nearly $356 billion in California in fiscal year 2014, for salaries and wages, grants, contracts, retirement benefits and other benefits. That same year, California paid about $369 billion in total federal tax -- or about $13 billion more than it received -- according to the Internal Revenue Service Data Book, 2014.

Its considered rebellion actually but its leadership is in sedition. By law we could go in and forcible remove them and charge them with rebellious act and also harboring criminals but the media would scream nazi nazi nazi. We might need the UN peacekeepers to go in and remove them instead.

meanwhile, trump and his royal family are publicly taking bribes from foreigners, and hiding their incomes. which, the last time I checked was grounds for impeachment...

No solid proof of a direct link(james clapper Obamas man said this before) but keep spouting off that line enough times and maybe people will actually believe it. Remember its beyond a reasonable doubt not just because someone says so.

I love California, it makes me giggle inside everytime I hear about them. I hope we build a bridge there one day so I can visit the unicorns and faeries.
