Creator of world's largest child pornography website sentenced to 30 years

The creator and lead administrator of what was believed to be the world’s largest child pornography website—with more than 150,000 users around the world—was sentenced this week to 30 years in prison.

The case—and the thousands of follow-up investigations it has launched—is unprecedented in its scope and reach, FBI officials said.

In August of 2014, a man named Steven Chase created a child pornography website on the Tor network, otherwise known as the "deep web". Because of how the Tor network works, it can be particularly difficult, if not impossible, to track those using it when proper security procedures are taken. The FBI eventually managed to get a break in the case however, and their ensuing investigations have so far led to the arrests of at least 350 in the US and 548 internationally. On top of that, approximately 350 sexually abused children have either been identified or rescued.

The numbers are staggering.

150K users to that single website alone, globally. Have to be hundreds of thousands more pedophiles on the deep web.

Then ask yourself, how many more are out there who don't have the technological savvy to use the deep web and hide their identity, so they don't venture there.

Essentially, there's millions of pedophiles walking this earth. And I'm not really referring to men who are attracted to 16/17 yr olds but men who are attracted little kids. Sickening.

Hard to say, but this investigation was able to crack a tough nut and this network has been the source of a lot more than this. I will give them credit for a win, with more to follow. The noose get's a little tighter....

I imagine that all the subscribers had to pay a regular fee to join the website. Even if it was just a $1 a month, that would be $150,000 s month. Then there is link sharing and other advertising revenue, if they have that on TOR. There must be a ton of money to be made or it wouldn't be worth the risk to produce, peddle or purchase for self-pleasure.

As evil as the rape of innocent children for profit is, the idea that this stuff gets some people off makes it all the worse for me, it at least doubles my hatred toward these subhuman vermin.

548 arrested out of 150k is very low amount. I sincerely hope they catch the other 149,500k. And this just from one website?? The www wow...

...apart from this has zero to do with Trump. The investigation started in 2014 and international arrests of site users began after January 2015. Even the sentencing Judge has been around since before Obama.

Shouldn't we be giving credit for all the hard work to the authorities and LEOs and not a crumb of credit to Presidents?
