I'll get started now. It'll take awhile to go from the West Coast to Washington

This is cause for celebration.

How about a little Country Joe and the fish.

The government needs to stay out of the business of doctors and medicine. Every time they insinuate themselves in it, it's a cluster#.

Certainly you can't mean that. You likely are speaking in generality when thinking about a specific.

You don't want government in doctors and medicine? Really? You are good with unlicensed doctors and Fentanyl for all, are you sure?

And then give DOJ $4 gazzion to lock up Hillary

Well, I guess it's better to have only one thought, rather than no thoughts at all.

I'm not sure though.

I have lots of thoughts and MJ is just one others include a Supreme Court for 20-30 years with 6-3 or even 7-2 decisions and a legislative nuclear option. But one of my favorite thoughts is Hillary behind bars.

The very best thought I have is after the Ds loosing over 1,000 political seats, the House, the Senate and the Presidency they are still in denial.

Oh yeah this is great.

The push for the end of the war on personal freedom errr I mean "drugs," (I use quotation because alcohol, tobacco, and narcotics are all legal drugs that are far more dangerous than cannabis) is continuing on.

Forgot one in the BATFE.

FIREARMS.

Yes.

Such a great 'win' for personal freedoms. We at least some of them.

I can wait til you all get it legalized and Monsanto starts sellin the GMO version.

God bless "Murica.

Monsanto doesn't exist anymore, buddy - a bit of reading doesn't hurt now and then.

I'll do what I want with my body with my resources in my own free time. Why? Because I can.

If that upsets/offends/triggers you - oh well.

This thread isn't about firearms. Go and derail a different thread with your incessant whining.

Yeah they were bought by Bayer.

Which means they didn't go anywhere.

Obviously this thread isn't about 'personal freedom' consistency.

Waaaaaah, I don't care about your irrational take on gun confiscation. I own multiple (registered) firearms and I don't have jack # to worry about.

If you want a thread about personal freedom and the logical consistency therewithin - go create your own thread, because your off-topic comments are quick to detract/detail from the OP/topic at hand (which, by the way - has nothing to do with firearms).

ETA: What's up with your fear of Monsanto? Are you one of those CEOphobes and corporatephobes you constantly fling at other posters?

In theory, Sessions could still take action against states that have legalized recreational marijuana

My excitement has abated, but good for those in need of it medically.

Congress needs to change the laws regarding Marijuana so ignorant d!ckheads like Sessions can't affect rational policy.

Medically or not it is not the govt job to tell anyone what to do with concern of this plant.

The problem is smokers and dopers thinking that they can drive while high. There is a test for sobriety with alcohol and it is fairly easy to read; there is a distinct pass-fail. People doping with other drugs and mixtures make it impossible for police to determine if a driver is impaired.
For the first time, there are more traffic deaths attributable to driving while high than driving while drunk. One thing that could be done would be to suspend driver's licenses for those prescribed medical marijuana much like epileptic's licenses are suspended during treatments. Recreational marijuana is another problem entirely. I see a future where anyone smoking and attempting to drive will be tossed in the drunk/druggy tank to sleep it off with whatever penalties apply.

I think GOP and their 'budget' should be locked up with that trash they pulled.

This all goes back to Rand Paul and his cronies' "Grow the Party" BS. There are more Democrats in the GOP (look at Trump) than there are conservatives. And, it's getting worse everyday.

When we talk about a Purple Party, you don't expect to wake up the next day and actually have to live with it.

ETA: And ... as far as not funding Session's War on Drugs. There's a whole bunch more TPTB should let go unfunded. I can think of whole entities within the government that should suffer that fate.

Well hey Mr. Helper...while we are affected by policies created from assholes just like you, I was hoping to game the system in place rather than re-invent the Wheel.

Your comments are indeed Seasonal, one moment Sunny, the next piss poor Cloudy.

Actually, soma = alcohol.

Alcohol comes with a different set of issues than soma did, but we're coming up on a 100 years now where alcohol is the uncontested champion that keeps the show going.

Your Freedom ends at the tip end of my nose. Tobacco is probably worse and both of these stink when burned. I am sure medical relief is real, as there are a lot of guinea pigs who have been smoking pot. END the draconian laws on weed and other drugs. Give crack heads a place to go live till they can get off of it where they can kill themselves with drugs , if that is what they want. Truly, the drug wars will end if we make it where you can get it from the pharmacists.

Really? Because SWIM has been driving for 28 years while stoned. Not one single accident OR ticket ever. Oops. Maybe it really is alcohol that's the problem. Oooooohhhh and by the way, those statistics are for people with cannabis in their system! It isn't reflective of individuals who were stoned when accidents have occurred. So actually, your statement should read, "statistically speaking, there are considerable numbers of individuals who enjoy both alcohol AND cannabis.". Ergo, your point is only barely tied to the subject matter.
Noted.

The description and effects of Soma as described in Huxley's novel is more akin to an opiod than marijuana.

Soma appears to have been an opioid and aphrodisiac. I remember getting tabs with "soma" on them from the Dr for something in the 80's....
