Honk Kong Phoey Mandela Effect?

Met up with a mate the other day and ending up losing a bet. The bet? Was Hong Kong Phoey's secret identity Henry or Penry the mild mannered janitor? I could have sworn blind that it had always been Henry. After all, what kind of name is Penry?? I lost.

Is it a case of poor memory or something else?

Poor memory, it's Penry. Watched TF out it growing up, probably on my older brother's VHS tapes knowing his affinity for being an early adopter of new tech since forever, so I got a dose of the goofy good stuff alongside my TMNT & Captain Planet.

We had a HKP video game, too. Probably on my brother's Commodore 64 back then.

Damn! I must be getting old. Still, what kind of name is Penry? Just doesn't sound right. When I Google it Penry seems to be a corrupted Henry or Welsh surname...

In my time line the program was called Hong Kong Phoey so yeah I guess another candidate for Mandela Effect.

Yeah, why couldn't the name changes affect politicians instead? Could you imagine how credible Mao Zedong would have sounded if his name had been changed to Mao ZeThong?

Is your thread title just wrong with Honk and not Hong

I also thought it was Henry but when listening to the intro video I can see why I would, both names are similar but I believe I would just hear Henry as it is a more familiar name to me.

I'll name my next dog Penry.
