Iron Maiden have been a solid part of my life since 1983, in my opinion it would be more apt to say One of the Greatest British bands of all time.

Steve Harris is the bomb, Bruce's voice is one-of-a-kind. My favorite song is 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' - a masterpiece imo.

Thank you Sublime, indeed you are right, i agree They are the Best of all Time!

Bruce Dickinson has one of the most unique voices i've ever heard. They all made the band what it was, and became. And I respect them greatly, they're all really decent people.

I prefer Maiden before they got an opera singer for a vocalist.

Not sayin they haven't done some good stuff with Dickinson but Di'Anno FTW.

No that's fine, I prefer the earlier stuff by far as well. It was pure raw adreneline. They were younger and more vivacious. Like Movie trilogies, the firsts always surpass the rest. Thank you for adding!

I'm torn - the nostalgic hit I get from Di'Anno takes me back to the beginning of my journey - to the point that Iron Maiden (my Iron Maiden) wouldn't be the same without that start.

I had a VHS video of an awesome Iron Maiden doco where both Paul and Bruce, just after the change-over, were interviewed - it was around the time of Powerslave or just before, #ed if I know what happen to it, but it was awesome. I also had an original embroidered Jacket-patch (for the back of the jacket) of Number of the Beast, but some bastard stole it.

When you first could have an mp3 as a ring tone, I had the opening bars of The Trooper, when everybody I knew had Sweet Child of Mine lol. Maiden is so ingratiated into our lives that Dickenson is allways refered to as "Uncle" Bruce to our 2 year old in honour of the fact he was conceived on or around the weekend of Sonisphere 2014 and the fact that missus has had a thing for him since she was 10 lol

The good that men do, is oft interred with their bones... but the evil that men do, lives on.

Honorable Mentions:

The Clansman
The Clairvoyant
Infinite Dreams

Can't go wrong with Maiden, they have a flavour for every ear if you listen to enough songs.

I would put Maiden up in my top 20 bands of all time...They would probably rate higher in terms of all the current and past bands that they influenced. Honestly I don't think we would have as much cool metal without the trail-blazing that Maiden did.

It means, dont 'f'ck with me, aliens coming soon... Ragnar! don't mess with me or i'll rip your gonads off''..

I'm speculating however, that was my translation.
