This is not true, even now.

During the Viet-Nam era, people were conscripted up to age 26, unless you had dependents. There were deferments. One was student [2S] and some were for medical reasons [4F]. Public health could get one a deferment past the 2S allowed for undergrad which was why medical school was so popular. We lucky folk were 1A and then became 1C after we were in.

The ballistic missiles they are testing are believed to be their own creation.

North Korea HAS conducted 5 nuclear detonation tests since 2006.

N. Korea also has missile systems they have been given, tho from whom is up for debate; the general consensus is Russian and Chinese. (Communists have to stick together, ya know.)

There IS concern that the medium range missile systems COULD reach various other countries in the area around N. Korea. We do have mutual defense agreements with a few counties in that part of the world.

I would not be volunteering again. I did my time and short of a draft I am not going back. And why would I be for war with NK, that is a good way to get alot of Americans, North Koreans, Chinese, Japanese and Russians killed for no benefit.

Okay. I just dont get how the US tested over 1,000 nukes (atomic, hydrogen, etc), for 50 years we go around blowing up entire nations if not overthrowing their governments, and then act like we have any room to criticize anyone else.

You compare what NK has done, and US, if NK desrves to be blown up then we deserve for every citizen here to be tortured for months on end (finger & toe nails ripped out one by one, power drill bits to the abdomen, you name it).

Strange... cuz i can vividly remember the military recruiters showing up at my high school when I was 16 (frequently) trying to get me n everyone else to sign up. And it really did sound like a bed of roses.

But... they dont really come knocking on your door once you graduate high school.

I have several reams of paper that have not yet enlisted. It is apparent that you have neither a DD4 nor a DD214. Do not panic over Lil' Kim. He does have nuclear warheads and he does have missiles, of a sort. The question is "does he have a missile capable of launching the weapon he has now?" Allowing him the time to miniaturize [relatively] what he has now so that one of his skyrockets can deliver it is what is worrisome. As he develops capabilities, he becomes more and more dangerous to everyone, including SK, China, and Japan. If he launches a nuke to hit Hawaii but it fails, where will it end up?
If they ask us geezers to help out, I'll put on a uniform and do it again. Most probably, it will be over rather quickly and I won't be recalled.

Why would he just go an commit national scale SUICIDE by launching on Hawaii, as in just for the hell of it???

This is where the logic falls flat.

I saw one rationale recently, oh, that KID, oh well he might get alzheimer's or something like that, and then launch.

Why would the people doing the launching follow the order????

Why aren't we invading Pakistan if that's the logic...

Better yet, why dont we just go around rounding up rage addicts here off the streets, and KILL them? Or lock them up even? They MIGHT attack somebody!!!!!

People that enjoy a good violent mosh pit, and especially the lead singers, they should get rounded up and executed, because surely they MIGHT attack people outside of the mosh pit at some point.

He could launch on anyone. NK and SK are still at war which makes SK very nervous. Kimmy needs his people looking at the big bad Bogeyman so that they have reason to sacrifice food and clothing for the greater good. In the past, NK has used their weapons to extort the rest of the world into giving them what they wanted. Kimmy expects to do the same thing. When more sanctions are imposed, what will happen? When NK is desperate, what will they do? Kimmy has to go.

Yeah, Kim is the bad guy, its not like USA and Russia and China do not have collaboration projects going on in that playground we call North Korea, its a freeforall. open your eyes and think.

For example many dimebags has invisible ink on them, it says Made in North Korea, this is just one example.
