It's not on the 360

Try building your own PC . Not much to it and more bang for your buck.

I second this recommendation. Steam is AWESOME!

Favorite 360 RPG? Lost Odyssey
Favorite RPG? Persona 4
Currently playing? Persona 5 (it may replace that previous entry when I finish too)

PS: If you like jrpgs, you should pick up a Playstation 2. That system is considered the glory years of JRPGs.

Persona 4 is a fantastic game, been playing it on my bro's PS Vita, since i don't get to see him often I've only played around 10 hours.

Got past the floors in the TV and saved the girl at the top, took ages cause i had to fuse other persona's with more power to defeat the big "bird" thing, died loads of times lol, other than that it's buying health/armour and weapons in town.

Oh and got a job folding letters in my room, makes a decent 1000 per day.

Yeah. It's not an easy game. You have to do some grinding from time to time and it can require some strict resource management for spells as you get later into a dungeon (especially that first dungeon since your levels are low and thus your SP is low and items to replenish SP are near non-existent), but man the story is great!

I never played the vita version. I played it on the ps2. I heard with the vita version you get more events to do during the year.

Cool didn't know it's on Ps2, it's annoying when you have low SP and have to ether use what you have in your items or use an escape potion to get out, (lucky some personas can heal and your game friends will restore you), then back to school for another day then when you're inventory is (as much as you can afford) go back in the TV, it's a long game and some day i'll get to complete it or buy myself a Vita lol.

Is persona 5 any good?

Once you get good at the game, you gotta try clearing the dungeon in one day. That way you get more time to maximize social links. But again that first dungeon is a doozie. Especially if you try to clear it in one day. I basically had to grind on the first 1 - 5 floors fighting all the things that I can just auto attack to death until my level was near level 7 or 8. Then I moved up to the next 2 or 3 floors for levels 8 - 10. Then I just bum rushed to the rest point before the boss (because there is a mob on level 9 that is immune to physical), saved, then came back the next day with a full SP total to beat it.

In order to beat later dungeons in one day you don't have to do all that because your SP total is a bit higher. Though SP management is still vital. Which is funny because it kind of makes the first dungeon of the game one of the hardest in the game. Which is unusual since most RPG's have the first dungeon as a starter dungeon to learn the ropes. Persona 5 is the same way in this regard too.

But knowing that strategy helped me with playing Persona 5 recently. Still haven't beaten it yet, but I'm close. I'm on the last story dungeon so hopefully this weekend but it's long. I already have all my social links maxed out too. If you like Persona 4, you'll like the new one too. I've REALLY enjoyed it myself.

I had to do the same and defeat everything on the first 3-4 floors opening all the doors/chests and getting as (low health) as possible without dieing to up all my personas (lucky they move up reasonably quickly) after a couple game day's, managed to buy myself the first wooden sword with higher power, then done the same again for another day and bought the metal samurai sword/armour for the team and health (broke me) that helped me defeat the boss at the top and save the girl... that's as far as i've got.

One of the best games i've played in years lol.

The fight system is tricky, but once you get used to it its not so bad. Though it is a step up in difficulty from most rpgs where you can autoattack most mobs in the game to victory.

Luckily all the rpg games this company (shin megami tensei) makes use a similar fight system. It REALLY relies on you exploiting the mobs' weaknesses while avoiding your own. Also ambushes are key. You should focus on ambushing and avoid being ambushed yourself (the ai is pretty decent in SMT games as the mobs are programmed to attack your characters' weaknesses). That way you can try to clear normal fights by taking minimal damage and hopefully without giving the opponents a turn. You do this by trying to knockdown all the mobs then all out assault them to death.

I also use multiple saves. I always keep a save for the start of the dungeon that I can load in case I accidentally mismanage my SP use and can't clear it in a day.

I agree. It is a classic rpg gem that isn't AS well known as other jrpgs legends like Final Fantasy or Dragonquest, but any one who plays jrpgs as a hobby will quickly tell you that this is one of the best jrpgs ever released. From the harder than average mechanics to the deep (and adult oriented) story then that combined with a japanese visual novel game to power you up outside of dungeons to add a unique twist to the genre. It's a real masterpiece of a game.

I, of course, won't spoil any of the story for you because the story is part of the fun of the game too. Good luck in your adventures in the metaverse!

Also, one more thing. I don't know if you did this or not, but make sure you turn off computer control of your teammates.

Didn't know about turning off computer control, what does it do?

The game defaults with the computer controlling your teammates. You can turn that off in the settings so that you can choose which attacks they do during combat.
