Oh, well then there we go. I admit I just assumed most carriers were nuke powered. Can a petrol fueled carrier ever be converted to nuclear power? Those costs would probably be ridiculous though and make more sense to just build one from the ground up.

You COULD, but there's no real advantage to it with a carrier this small. It's a STOBAR so it doesn't need to generate steam for a catapult, and it's not going to be out for 6-7 month deployments like ours are.

Unbelievable to me is the utter lack of pomp and circumstance at this launch. For a communist capital ship launch there was absolutely no crying masses! The NK would have had a million plus out there bawling their eyes out as their fat troll boasts on killing the capitalists. Even the Russians get a better crowd going these days and they're only kinda commies! Truly disappointed China.
