Seoul would be hit by artillery before we could take them all out, right? That fact alone should be pressing people towards a diplomatic solution.

Russia Warns North Korean Sub Ready To Attack US, Orders Northern Fleet To Sea

www.whatdoesitmean.com...

BREAKING: Military On HIGH ALERT After Warship Spotted Off California Coast, Here’s Who’s In It

washingtonfeed.com...

Ever since President Trump launched 59 Tomahawk missiles at Syria, tensions have been on the rise between the United States, North Korea, and Russia. Now one of these countries appears to be planning an attack on our soil, after a national security alert was sparked on Tuesday morning.

Any connection to power outages?

Missile intercept
Many analysts believe the movement of US warships is likely defensive in nature, setting the stage for a scenario in which the Vinson strike group could be called upon to perform a missile intercept.
The three escort warships traveling with the Vinson have more than 300 combined missile tubes and are outfitted with the Aegis anti-missile system, according to Bruce Bennett, the senior defense analyst at the think tank Rand Corp.
"If North Korea were to test some number of ballistic missiles by firing them into the East Sea/Sea of Japan, these warships would have the potential of intercepting the North Korean test missile," Bennett said.

Whilst you cant just threaten every nation that disagrees with you with nuclear annihalation that sort of behaviour indicates a cornered rat I would like to see what US diplomatic efforts (if any) have occured I would only support action if diplomacy failed, prick waving isn't diplomacy.

There is a state of war that has never ended.
Trump doesn't need Congressional declaration of War, there already is one.
We are currently in a cease fire agreement, when Lil psycho Kim fires the first shot there are no holds barred nothing the libraticals in Congress can say about it to change the outcome.

And he aint ever gonna.

He's just trolling, and you guys are feeding him.

And he likes to eat.

Trump : "China is raping us .. "
And yes you are getting raped by China .

Yeah, POTUS has had a bit of a reality check since those comments. Like the reality that our relationship with China is too important to be crapped all over. China isn't raping anything. Regardless of how you personally feel about it, our relationship with China only stands to be improved if the US works with them on reigning in North Korea. They will support sanction against the DPRK.

This just happened this morning: Trump and Xi vow to 'strengthen coordination' to denuclearize Korean Peninsula Take specific notice of the part that says:

Trump said he told Xi that he could get better trade terms from the United States if China helps rein in nuclear threats from North Korea

That means Trump is willing to give them an even bigger slice of the economic pie in return for helping with this whole debacle. Break some campaign promises, save the East from nuclear war. Tit for tat.

No matter what happens there's a dead man switch hovering over a Seoul attack... Yes. If the Norks strike first it will be at Seoul, if the US attacks first the response will be to attack Seoul.

Within 90 minutes of the word from Pyongyang, Seoul would be rubble and potentially hundreds of thousands dead.

There's not much downside to that (unless in something like 50 years down the road China decides that South Korea should join them too).

China has intimated that they would not have an issue with a unified Korea as long as United States troops do not deploy further north of the current DMZ.

So China is cool with air strikes on the north ad long as it is only troops from the south that push past the DMZ? Usually I don't get caught up in the fear porn but with the situation in SK with their president we just might see something big go down.

The problem is that at some point diplomacy fails or it works. Second guessing it isn't going to change it. Eventually it turns into, as Ewok said, a math problem.

Personally, my hope is that the Chinese go in and spank Kim and either bring him to heel or take him out entirely. I don't, however, think we can wait forever for that to happen.

NK is under a microscope. I doubt anyone farts without the NSA knowing about it, so knowing where their assets are shouldn't be a problem for the US.. The worry is their artillery leveling Seoul, or a rogue missile hitting Japan. I pray this becomes a cuban missile crisis where the Jungster backs off when he sees Trump aint playing.

Like they're actually going to attack anyone, ever.

Get a grip.

The only problem with that is a dictator rules by his word alone and if he goes crazy or gets so angry he doesn't care or my worst fear becomes terminally ill so doesn't care, why would they not strike their hated enemies?

Korea and Vietnam were not declared wars. They were conflicts or police actions. THE USA has never declared war on Korea.

This is unlikely. Anything China does to influence Pyongyang is going to be don through sanctions from the UN and diplomatic messages from Beijing. Weather or not those diplomatic cables are sternly worded slaps on the wrist or letters delivered by an assassin.... that is yet to be seen. The Chinese will not attack an ally, no matter how pissed off they are with them. That would be the equivalent of the US attacking Mexico. It's just not going to happen.

Don't be so sure.
Every stone is accounted for from decades of satellite surveillance. Hard to roll artillery out of mountain caves when the operators get sucked out after turning to jelly. There is one aircraft carrier group there but nobody knows how many missile tubes we got under the sea in the theater ready to go.

There is one simple question to be asked by ALL. Can the world afford to wait any longer before dealing with NK?

The answer to this question determines what needs to be done!

We can't afford to wait any longer. Do we really know NK's nuke capabilities or the lack thereof? How much does our government know that we haven't been told about?

Imho this threat has to be dealt with now. I don't want to see anyone die, especially if this thing goes nuclear. But Kim Jung-Un is nuts enough and evil enough to whack members of his own family. He is cruel to his own people, who are starving while he lives in the lap of luxury.

I would hate to be in his shoes when the Lord takes this up with Lil' Kim.

If Lil' Kim thinks his back is up against the proverbial wall, then imo he will take out everyone with him, including his own people.

Didn't China say something about April 29th a couple of weeks ago?

Now we have this meeting on the 26th(US).

We may just see a show of force by Friday/Saturday.

Whether it comes from China or the US is up for speculation.

*we* don't and that's why moves like this are sort of scary, but we are assuming that various intel agencies around the world do know and have been working hard to keep those nukes from flying.

One one hand, seeing the end of the KJ dynasty would be fantastic for the people of NK, SK, Japan, and ultimately lead to more stable and better relationships all around

On the other hand....

umm

okay, nevermind, Get to the bombing Trump..but strike with precision, avoid civilians

Give it a 5 year photo between the last day of Kimbo's regime and the inevitable takeover by either China or Korea and watch how many pretty lights from space you see turn on.

Yes we do know their nuclear capabilities. They have several tens (as in multiples of ten) usable nuclear weapons.

No one is backed against a wall yet.

There is a reason you are not in charge of our military. Attacking North Korea without exhausting diplomatic channels first is a huge mistake. You would start WW3.

As horrible as it is for the people of North Korea, he should be their problem to solve, and I'd be content to let them have at ... except we had some bonehead in office who gave his daddy nuclear power for "peaceful" purposes, and daddy went and raised an insane nutjob for a successor.
