I hate the idea of more combat,However that fat baserd needs to be removed quickly. He has no power to speak of yet threatens everyone around him. Think they need to find out where he is and send a cruise missile special delivery.

What are you guys not understanding about this? DPRK have nukes. Nuclear weapons = = power. He controls an army of 1 million with a reserve force of 6 million more. That = = power. There won't be anyone being taken out quick without sever consequences to the US, South Korea, and Japan. The US has 100,000 troops right next to the DMZ.

Suggesting that we attack North Korea shows a lack of understanding that borders on imbecilic. We aren't talking about a dust-bowl country in the middle east using IED's and rocket propelled grenades. We're talking about a nuclear state with a formidable military.

He didn't have Chemical weapons

That's BS, one of my adult children aided in securing, transporting and the destruction of a large part Saddam chemical arsenal.

Is it okay to ask what country you are from?

My reason being there is not a nation on this planet that has not done absolutely disgusting things to its own people. I'm not talking ancient past either, we were all #$&*=@ then.

Agree...kind of giving oneself a hand job as opposed to finding someone to do the real thing with
Some people can only fantasize....just like NK

I agree, I'm only concerned with SK. I feel like we've been there long enough and the threat had been constant enough that the anti missile defense should be pretty impressive. Then again, Pearl Harbor. Not like we've had a perfect record against attacks.

I agree all nations have done disgusting things to their own people and other nations. The point I am making is that
North Korea is not a threat to the USA just because they created some movie simulation saying they can drop nukes on the USA.

There was a thread made about the USA heading for North Korea afew days ago, turned out to be not quite accurate. Lots a Bull Snip going on everywhere

www.thedrive.com...

The about-face of the supercarrier USS Carl Vinson and good portion of her escorts made huge news all last week as increasingly louder war drums were signaling a confrontation between the US and North Korea. By the time North Korea was parading ballistic missiles through its streets, and a missile test launch or nuclear weapons test was likely imminent, it was assumed the ships were closing in on the area, along with a contingent of Japanese warships they were supposed to meet up with. Now it appears this was not the case.

Don't disagree with much of what you say except this

But I will still support the west and America over NK any day.

I haven't seen N K install dictators in South America or destabilize the Middle East on phony excuses to grab drugs and resources and allow a Rothschild Central Bank to control the countries.

The USA seems to have have turned 180 degrees on nuclear weapons use now.
We saw that the so called WMDS of Iraq never existed...Why should I believe what America says now - Australia stupidly followed the USA into Afghanistan - the drugs now flow to America easier....

Up until shock and awe Saddam did nothing wrong, He complied to everything he was asked by the UN. He didn't have Chemical weapons and nor was he responsible for 9/11.

Not the point I was making.

Here's the thing. They have little ability to project that power. They have thus far demonstrated no real missile capability. In order to really nuke the continental US, they have to be able to load their warheads on rockets that really fly. Maybe they've been firing off duds on purpose. Who knows (hopefully intel)?

But at best, what we've seen from them could theoretically reach Hawaii ... maybe the West Coast if they have a sub to carry them that can get past our own boats.

Maybe they load one on a container and hit us with an EMP, but I don't think that's the kind of show Lil' Kim is looking for even though it would be far more devastating than any single nuke blast would be.

They're much more immediately dangerous to their neighbors in the region, and then they pretty much have to hope they can loot as they go because either they've been hoarding a ton of supplies against needing to supply an army or they have crap for provisions once they get in the field which is indicated by the annual famines.

This is the quandry with North Korea, they undoubtedly possess the capability to annihilate South Korea and perhaps even Japan.

But

How long do we let them tinker away with rockets before they actually come good with capability to strike mainland USA or Australia or Europe?

This is a classic Russian roulette game. NK needs a regime change. Not necessarily a western leaning one, but one that is more interested in feeding it's people and internal affairs than constantly antagonising the USA and it's allies.

Absolutely it should scare you. The US is about to square up with a nation who has nukes and by all accounts is willing to use them. Their conventional missiles are enough to inflict heavy casualties, and a usable nuclear weapons arsenal no matter how limited is pretty damn scary.

Adding a little more fuel to the fire the Carl Vinson is now heading north.. I doubt that's going to calm things down at all.

It's also worth noting that the Carl Vinson's group is being tailed by Russian and Chinese naval intelligence ships. It's also safe to assume everyone involved has submarines close by. The Chinese have made a sport out of embarrassing the United States with their stealthy submarine maneuvers, and the russians have a handful of Oscar II class built for the sole purpose of sinking US aircraft carriers.

Appreciate the informative post Annoy.

At the end of the day we don`t have a say in the conflict, especially a few global members here on ATS. so don`t take my personal opinions as an attack.

From NK`s continued goals of military progress and its continued unannounced missile launch's to 200 clicks of the coast of Japan where anybody could be out there, is dangerous and reckless. Especially if they dream of striking the US with a nuke. Fortunately I`m not in a zone NK could hit, but like America could be in the future, my main concern is for SK and Japan and for the American Navy personnel.

I see the threat as real, a threat which is better to deal with sooner rather than later. It would be great to hear NK turn around from their continued military progression but the opposite seems to be happening. So I can understand the POTUS stance on security of America/ns and her allies.

I hear ya pal I do, all the cloak and dagger of destabilising and lining pockets has always been apart of world affairs, I don`t like it as much as you.

One thing I want to mention, years ago I watched quite a few video`s of Amir Tsarfati a former Major in the Israeli Defence Force now he is a Christian Pastor still living in Israel, I remember him saying that Israel already knew the WMD were smuggled out of Iraq and into Syria and that the IDF had close eye`s on these weapons, that if they were ever pointed at Israel, Israel would flatten them. He imo is a good guy and wouldn`t lie about these type of things. I find it coincidental with the chemical weapons that were recently used and destroyed, were these from Iraq? I haven`t a clue.

NK though is a continued dangerous dictatorship that only wants to advance their capabilities and with such state run celebratory clips of the US`s destruction America will see that as a very real threat.

Temper tantrum accompanied by complete and total continuation of brainwashing the poor folks in NK....

NK MIlitary is panicking because the current Prez isn't going to PAY THEM TO STOP....

Bush & Obama reacted to these tantrums with $$$$$$$ BILLIONS of $$$$$$

Trump isn't going down that road...

The position POTUS has taken, has CHINA SK & the US on the same side...

Positive shift IMO.... I certainly hope that Korea can unify... and the nightmare of being a global pressure point can leave the folks on both sides of the 38th Parallel... it's time....

The DPRK 's ability to do anything ... and I mean anything ... could be stopped in three minutes. After that, their entire population could be laid waste in less than 20 minutes.

Now ... if they've got a nuke onboard some suicide sub, they may be able to take out a US (more likely a Japanese) coastal city. That just means our hunter/killer subs have to do their jobs the best they can.

Suggesting that we attack North Korea shows a lack of understanding that borders on imbecilic.

Harsh words ... and you've used a lot of them.

Eliminating an emerging threat is a justifiable act of defense. You don't ever hear Pakistan threatening to nuke the US do you?

The total annihilation of North Korea and it's populace wouldn't cause me to lose a minute's worth of sleep ... and no one in the real world would miss them either.
