I suppose most people have already heard this lovely tale, but I love to see it again once in a while. It reminds us that even though we may not feel we are making a difference in the world, we can always make a difference in someone's life.

Just to let folks know, JustMike will be with us again regularly as soon as he can and he and Dada are fine.

That's true.

Making a better place starts by making a circle of friends which eventually grows despite everything else.

Hm, who's Dada?

Dada is JustMike's lovely wife.

Ah, I see!

I thought Dada was JustMike's father. Which, of course, was totally confusing me.

Thanks for the clarification!

No problem my rainbow warrior! How is your day going? It is so lovely outside and I noticed the big tree in my yard...the leaves are starting to come out! There are green things/flowers popping up from their Winter slumber as well.

ABUSE AT HOME

There is nothing that bothers me more than hearing about adults and children that have been abused in some way.

"Around the world, at least one in every three women has been beaten,
coerced into sex or otherwise abused during her lifetime."
1

The above quote, in my opinion, should read "...at least one in every three women HAVE REPORTED being beaten,..."
The reason that I am saying that is because I am one of those nice guys that women love to talk to me about their live, universe, problems, and everything. I do enjoy being an ear for these women to talk to in order to feel better about themselves. Based on my experience as a listener, I would say that 85% of women have been abused at sometime in there life.

Abuse is not just physical. lt can be verbal, sexual, emotional, withholding money or medicine or food. Some put up with it as it is the only life that they have had. Others stay together for the sake of the children. No one needs to stay in a home where this takes place.

I've talked with people who have been abused since they were 2 years old. They are always drawn to relationships in which they continue to get hurt. With friends and therapy this can be overcome. I don't understand the minds behind the abusers or the family members that let them get away with it. It hurts, it hurts me very much that this happens. Talk to me if it will help you. I am good at finding resources that can help out in your community. Sending you my love.

My sky right now is a mix of cloudy and sunny. As for me, well, I'm a bit groggy, bored and I have a mild headache, but I'm otherwise fine and ready to rock.

At least the World today isn't being as hectic and mad as usual. So I'm kind of grateful.

Up here we still have snow here and there, but I've started a few plants so that I may plant them outside when they're strong enough.

Ugh. I know.

I just don't understand it.

Well, actually I do, as I have studied a bit of psychology, but my point is, abuse is just such an un-evolved action. Humankind is capable of so much more grace.

One thing I hate is people with no gracefulness.

Swanne and Night - Those that abuse tick me off so much. I wish more could be done to put this to an end.

This could be your thing, you know. Many of the friends in the Shed have their thing - I'm into random acts of kindness, Night Star is into charity, you could be into helping those who have been abused. It'd be pretty cool - all making the world a better place in our own ways.

That might be my calling Swanne. Otherwise I have a couple of other stories to post sometime today that may change what direction I am going in my effort to save the world.

Hey cool, I work with troubled teens and teens with mental illness in my community.

LookingFAB - almost 100 percent of the teens I talk to have been abused in one way or another, it's really sad to see how prevalent it is in our society.
