NK has been trolling the world longer than i've been alive(25years old). We have always had War Games with South Korea but we never had a President troll them in the same way they have been trolling SK and the USA for years. We also have a President who wont take there chit. Sanctions dont work with these people. They will only respond with Bombs dropping on there head. Thats a awful thing to say I know but we had tried the peaceful way with Obama and it didn't work now we take them out before they attack us 1st.

Bush should have taken them out instead of Iraq.

Although I agree with everything you have just said, I feel this thread has no real substance to it- just another opinion on the NK subject.

We won't invade North Korea, we also don't want North Korea to dissolve.

If Korea unified it would devastate South Korea's economy, and we would lose our military footing in the south Pacific.

Their rhetoric justifies our buildup in the eyes of China and Russia.

Russia and China also don't want a unified Korea.

For now it's rhetoric and games.

I agree.

Unified Germany devastated the German economy. I'd almost wish China would annex North Korea.

It would be in china's best interest. Although we might actually counter that.

That would leave our big footprint in Hawaii and Japan. Japan (Okinawa) in particular is feeling a bit burdened by their long time guests (us).

Whether they try to squeeze us out or not will be irrelevant in a little over twenty years.

China looks to be positioning to make a move.

I say give it to them.

There is no strategic importance to North Korea.

We could withdraw our troops and stand down, FINALLY in North Korea.

Treaties would keep China off South Korea and with the land of North Korea, China might be appeased in terms of Taiwan as well.

Whatever alleviates my taxes. I fear we've stretched our imperialistic time period past the point of recovery.

If we keep going down this road our bridges will crumble from negligence while we bomb Syria's airfields that they'll repair the next day.

Agreed.

I can't imagine the billions dumped into South Korea because of North Korea.

I'd like to see that solution as well. Conflict with North Korea and American involvement there isn't a good idea, could get ugly quick.

I understand the flip side of the coin, it's "defensive" posturing.

But if the world wars taught us anything, it's that military buildup along lines is far from defensive, it just creates an environment for a mistake to cast conflict.

Military isolationism is more defensive IMO.

Half of our deployed troops back home would mean home is far more defended.

obviously global tribulations occur and yes, there are many 'really bad guys' out for the blood of their perceived enemies, but i'm disappointed with the amount of gung-ho enthusiasm shown by some about 'taking care of' NK and the (in some cases almost fanatical) zeal with which the prospect of conflict is embraced. more wars and bigger bombs. rinse and repeat. sigh.

North Korea needs to knock off its nuclear saber rattling before someone actually gets nuked. North Korea has been building its nuclear program up to the point it could launch a nuclear missile and hit somewhere in Japan, for example. Maybe on the west coast of the U.S., not sure. I assume the U.S. will step in at some point before that happens. With Donald Trump in charge, probably more likely.

What? nonsense. if SK expanded to include north and united, it would be a booming economy..thats a lot of new buyers into the market. China has become a powerhouse with their nation opening up to capitalism..same will happen with the north suddenly open.

and we would lose our military footing in the south Pacific.

Nonsense again, we have Japan who, although would like for us to cut down the size of our base, wants us to remain if only as a presence against any chinese or russian moves...not to mention other nations getting uppity.

Russia and China also don't want a unified Korea.

Russia established NK..thats their pet project from the 50s and a leftover from the cold war 3rd world nation pawn game.
China simply doesn't want a major us presence literally on their doorstep..but if we were to back out of korea once united, this wouldn't be a issue.

No, Bush would've false flag China and brought WW3. Its all about Trump now and him attempting to prevent WW3.

China would take that deal in a heartbeat ... and wait another fifty years for South Korea to fold into China as well.

You do know that a new government in South Korea is about to form (in about a month). That government (whichever of the two parties win) is going to be soft on North Korea.

This is why I believe Trump will first-strike the North. That and the hatred the North and South Koreans have for Japan. There's no way the North and South would be allowed to unify while the North possesses a nuclear weapons production capability.

For all you guys that own Samsung and LG phones ... I'm sorry.
