Yes, I was thinking the same thing...growing it indoors, because lazy neighbours might steal all my hard work.

Congrats to your country.Even though I don't smoke it , its your darn right to decide what you do with your body not the gov't as long as it doesn't hurt others.

Sometimes, within Canada, we create legal paradoxes.

Current laws on prostitution in Canada, introduced in 2014, make it illegal to purchase sexual services but legal to sell them.

They are against it in Canada too, one candidate is promising to cancell legalisation..and thus has no chance of being elected.
What is not clear is the impaired driving test..you could test positive even not having indulged for 4-5 days..going to be a mess, a sure moneymaker for the govt.

It will be interesting to see the legal outcome, if everyone had the balls to fight it in court.

MJ legalisation has never been the right answer......this is about big pharmacutical cartels.......because if MJ is properly dispensed as a medicine then the millions of people who use it would become supervised by their doctors and the true full complete medical benefis of MJ will become mainstream knowledge.....this will break big pharms hold on tens of millions of people.....and the anti-parasitic qualities will become known.

If you smoke pot to ease stress, arthritis ,et al....one less prescription drug is sold....if you use pot for any of the hundreds of uses it covers you end up with THOUSANDS OF DRUGS NO LONGER BEING PRESCRIBED translating into hundreds of Billions of dollars in big Pharma revenue.

Proper management of MJ use monitored by a Dr. is the right path, and the tens of millions who choose to use should do so by going to their Dr. for relief like they always have but now MJ should be prescribed instead of Pharmacuticals.

Big Pharma will NEVER admit MJ can replace their laboratory creations they hold patents on.

It is clear TPTB are now focusing on GMOing food crops and now will focus on MJ and other medicinals.......they are selectively bio-engineering OUT the inherant qualities of FOODS AND MEDICINAL HERBS......to create a marketplace lock and then to disenfranchise globally things which hurt their pharmacutical bottom line.

Right now there are many types of MJ with many varying medicinal abilities......same with foods many of which are good for us and many which are actually quite bad for us so the minions of evil bio-engineer out the positives of the good foods and then at great cost over-advertise promote and sell the BAD ones so s to keep people unhealthy and going for big pharma drugs etal.

They cannot patent mother nature...so they will furtively corner the mrketplace on SEEDS like Monsanto began doing decades ago in their push for GLOBAL FOOD DOMINANCE....energy dominance is over with free energy being developed in many countries now.....so TPTB are re-investing....big time.

Legalising MJ makes their long term goals more achievable for them.

When you have to buy your MJ from a licensed dealer in all forms including genetics they have a LOCK ON EVERYTHING. ......right now there are thousands and thousands of genetic lines with very very different medical qualities and they want to disenfranchise and criminalise nearly all of these strains or genetics and then begin selling people the GMOed MJ which has been deprived of its natural medicinal genetic impact.

I'd rather fight the corporatization of cannabis than the government trying to throw me in a cage for it.

They don't own the seeds of earth to begin with, we all do. So their regulation is not legal to begin with. Slavery is null and void illegal crimes. I don't stand under them. They stand under me, as their collective Employer.

a) Dope makes you stupid. One should not drive while stupid. Already stupid people will, so there needs to be a method for interdiction.
b) One can still grow it and play geneticist.
c) Beats going to jail.
d) We already pay a 'tax' by paying a premium for an illegal product. At least a government tax will go to good things like health care.

Stupid is not impaired.....MJ will be used to fill prisons and to feed the legal system.....there should be NO POSSIBILITY of legal CHARGES for driving stoned on MJ.....none whatsoever....the simple fact there is a push to equate being high on MJ to being DRUNK on alcohol shows us the MJ driving issue is being used as a cash cow.

No forcing proper classification as MEDICINAL and FORCING Doctors to freely prescribe it is better than going to jail for it.

Decriminalisation was the correct route...that route disenfranchised the manipulation of the MJ issue by TPTB......keeping it legal but policed makes it mallable......no penalties...no controls....no BS high driving stories....just full decriminalisation and let it go.

I dont care what kind or how much MJ you smoke or ingest...you cannot overdose fatally and you cannot become impaired like a drunk on alcohol does...not even 1/2 way as impaired......it simply does not happen.
Even TRYING to claim so is a BLATANT CON-JOB...and we see governments jumping to the pump to do just this.

What is really happening is this...the insurance industry is an arm of TPTBs Global fiat money laundering scam....it feeds the processes by making people pay hard currency for pharmacuticals.........there is no way they will let Dr.s freely prescribe MJ as a theraputic drug because they do not own the patents and can not corner the market.....lol....as it is they bleed the insurance premiums and monies back into their own systems.....but if those same insurance companies had to pay billions of dollrs a year OUT to MJ producers who they do not own and have within their systems....lol...it would bankrupt them......so they invested billions and billions to legalise MJ....and spent billions making sure it was not decriminalised.

I think it's humorous how so many think this is anything but developing yet another market to harvest taxes from, the same as alcohol was and is.

Remember when you had to have something like .020% blood alcohol content before you were considered drunk?. I can only ponder how quickly this will end up about the same as alcohol is, like illegal if you do it anywhere but your attic...

Just another creative way of stealing money while never creating anything at all, courtesy of your big fake government.

Creating a market to harvest money in an economy that is collapsing.

Same old S***, Different Day.

Only conservatives are against pot in the US.

Why shouldn't we be ?

Since we see the cognitive dissonance in weed legalization then turn around and push gun control.

You can usually get 3-4 rolled joints from one gram, so 30 grams is a huge amount....

Not for someone who is clinical who is making oils or extracts.
It's very rarely about smoking with these people.
I have patients that will consume 56 grams(2 ounces) in 2 days for leukemia and forms of sever cancer.

Identity politics plays a very small part with this.
I'm a classical liberal which often gets confused with conservatism these days and I'm one of the biggest cannabis advocates you will ever meet. Politics aside I just want to make the world a little better place with this plant.

Sadly it's the left that will typically assume that there is no such thing as a conservative smoker...
The conservative smokers understand they are the minority and generally don't allow their cannabis experience be ruined by silly little things like politics.

Good job Canada. I wish we were heading in that direction still, but alas Trump has put Sessions in charge and he has turned around and brought more drug warriors on board. The rest of the world is moving towards acceptance, Canada is straight up legalizing it, and the US wants to return to the 1980's...

Of the many flashpoints in 2020, legalization (and counter efforts by Trump) will play a role in how things pan out. We are going through another social shift in our nation, and this is a point of change.

In the end, "Just say No" is dead, as is any reasonable chance to wage war on MJ

Sorry, about 45 years of research tells me that smoking pot impairs one's decision making process, and I have always considered that to be a critical element of driving. That and the danger of putting on the tunes and ending up in Montreal.
Smoke-dope won't kill you...but stupid can, and dope makes one stupid. Even if one is doing 5 miles an hour (known to happen) driving stoned needs to be controlled.

From a political standpoint, any capital spent on this issue is wasted capital. Self driving cars seem to be on the horizon. If someone spends money developing a test to determine MJ impairment while driving, they'll end up losing money before they can recover R&D. Unless they deploy the testing elsewhere, too.

Lol....driving hungry to then huh?....lol....maybe driving tired?....or Angry?.....how about driving jacked up on 15 High-test Coffees?.....and unfortunately stupid is as stupid does.....and please link to said 45 years of research ,because my interpretation of peer approved research is that ones decision making is ENHANCED as oppossed to impaired....and this is why alcohol type policing will never work....we LREADY KNOW DRIVING STONED IS NO MORE DANGEROUS THAN DRIVING ANGRY...and there is NO POSSIBLE TEST TO DETERMINE IMPACT OF MJ as there is with alcohol and any attempt to contrive one as is being done is as strawman as your argument about "stupid" being reason to police the public....lol...lws against being to stupid....lol...I like that one.

LMAO....you are slick....lol...you even tossed in a shot at driving to slow because you know very well you cant use the old drunk driving speeding schtick to support the current attempt to sell and promote negative paralells between MJ and Alcohol.

No one is buying this schtick.....lol....people are becoming more willing to learn about MJ....and soon the average person will understand that medicinal MJ is the right path and that forcing Dr.s to freely prescribe or allow patients to demand it it is also needed.... leglisation is not the answer....proper definition and dispensation of MJ as a MEDICINAL asset is the answer...and this does not mean we need legalisation or decriminalisation....what we do need is to stop the millions of criminal records being given out and we do this by forcing DRs to prescribe or allow people to demand MJ as a theraputic treatment option....1/2 the people who use MJ use it for stress relief....Dr.s prescribe many many drugs and treatments for stress...stress kills people....so obviously if you can DEMAND your doctor authorise your use of medicinal MJ to ease your stress then this is how it should be.....in fact MJ will replace 1000s of prescription drugs in no time if Drs are FORCED TO AUTHORISE IT AS AN OPTION BY PATIENT DEMAND.This means ANYBODY can get a prescription for almost ANYTHING from Insomnia to stress to anorexia to tennis elbow to arthritis.

Millions and millions of people who will no longer recieve criminal records because it is EASY TO ACESS MEDICAL MJ.

Not because it is legal.

Personal research...finest kind!
Well, then do me a favour, if you are going to enter the enchanted kingdom, then drive...stay out of south-central Ontario because I don't want you on the roads around me. Stoned drivers are stupid drivers. If you can dispute that, then you ought to try a better quality pot.
