Was this an abduction attempt?

Back in December, I was home alone one night and went to bed early. Read a book for a while as usual and then turned off the light and laid on my back and sort of meditated myself to sleep (as I often do). I got myself into a state of where I was sort of half awake and half asleep (I had been able to do this for many years). This particular time, as I was in this semi-conscious state, several small black "beings?" (they were not grey) entered the room and lifted me off my bed and started to carry me outside. We went right through the wall of my room. Outside, I remember a very bright light that bothered my eyes and it sort of snapped me out of the semi-conscious state I was in and I found myself back in bed and quite wide awake. I was quite shaken up by the episode and immediately ran to the window to see if there was anything outside. There was a bright bluish light throughout my back yard and neighbor's yard and then like a flash the light was gone.

I never told anyone about the incident and since then I have not been able to bring myself back to that semi-conscious state through self-hypnosis or meditation.

Was this an attempted abduction or my imagination? I have also wondered if it was in fact a successful abduction and I just have no memory of what happened from the time I saw that light to the time I ended up back in bed.

Anyone have any thoughts or similar experiences?? Thanks!

I'm going to say that when you thought you were half-asleep, you were actually fully asleep, and that it was a dream. The light being there when you were awake is interesting, though. Did you ever check if it was your neighbor's porchlight or something, or maybe just a car with it's brights on? Or maybe something like a police helicopter's searchlight? If you just woke up and were stressed out, then it could be that a relatively dim light seemed to 'bathe' your yard when in reality it was just a regular light. When you get excited, small things like that seem to be amplified, in my experience anyway.

They were probably trying to figure out the brain of a human who wants to kill large amounts of other humans.

I live in a fairly remote area...though do have a neighbor in back of me...but mostly woods on the other three sides. I suppose the sound of a helicopter could have woken me if I was asleep and the light could have been a search light?.....but why would there be a helicopter there and what were they looking for? I didn't read anything in my local paper about authorities looking for anything or anyone that night (of course, that doesn't mean anything).

It was a very odd experience and I've experienced nothing like it before and it seemed awfully real at the time.....

This sounds more like an out of body experience or OBE.
I would think with aliens they wouldn't screw up any abductions.
If you don't like the answers on this board I recommend asking the paranormal folks about it.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

To Zabilgy, have you ever tried astral projection before? From what I've read, that sounds more like your experience than abduction. Also another question. If you were able to successfully self-hypnotize, are others able to hypnotize yoU? If so, do you think a hypnotic regression might be helpful in determining the reality of an abduction?

I've been to a hypnotist before and was successful hypnotized once out of three sessions and also learned some self-hypnosis techniques from the same gentleman. I could try a regression. I have an accupuncturist who could probably refer me to someone.

Regarding Astral Projection....during that period where I could get myself into that half awake/half asleep state I did have many experiences which I believe are like astral projection where I would travel usually by flying and end up in different places with different people and had some pretty interesting experiences. But, this particular experience I started the thread with, was a lot different. It felt different. The times I projected I knew I was still awake and knew I was in control of what I was doing. In the possible abduction, I felt awake but completely not in control of the situation and I felt fully awake...not asleep in body but awake in mind like when I could project.....it was definitely different.

I just looked up some older posts. I get what you said now.

I had two episodes in my life that I had OBE abillity all the time:

1. when I was frequently playing Command&Conquer until deep in the night, aftewards I tried to sleep, but part of the overstimulated brain remained active, having me floating over some 3d NOD battlefields, I can imagine that reading a good book prior to forced sleep might keep part of the brain stimulated. Especially if you keep your eyes the tiniest bit open, black spots as some neurons don't get enough light (like the "dark blue velvet effect on cheap VHS video), the brain trying to compensate for this by getting oversensitive for any external foton/sound that does come in and your subconsious/imagination tries to draw lines between these dots and make sense out of it....

2. Having fun with ketamine , you wouldn't by any change been in a Rolling mood in the days before??? and used MDA instead of MDMA. MDA gives much more closed eyes imagery and lucid dreaming afterwards...

I got really excited when I thought I was being abducted once. It was late on a clear night and I was sitting on a table outside with my video cam filming flying foxes . I had given it a break and was just sitting there having a smoke in the dark looking at stars and minding my own, when suddenly the yard was lit with brilliant light from above. unfortunatly it flicked off and I stood to see it was a chopper which had probably accidently flicked a search light on. It took off again. I didnt hear it coming for some reason, but I was very dissappointed, I thought i was having a close encounters moment!

Ah, I understand. Beg pardon if I gave offense.
I'm generally not able to attain even a relaxed state, even with meditation. I think I'm just too high strung.

Could this have been the black shadowy beings that seem to appear between sleep and consciousness? Iv been drifting off to sleep before and suddenly the room looks different, sort of twisted (a bit like changing planes on Soul Reaver) and i see black entities which scare me and i wake myself up. Usually just as they reach the bed!

Lizard.....they were just black, almost seemed like shadows, but they could have easily been wearing black robes....

The other post about someone else seeing these type of figures in a semi-conscious state....interesting you've had a similar experience. Why I question it is because of the bright light outside when they brought me outside and then when I was back in my room seeing that light still and then it immediately zipping off.....it all seemed very real and obviously very odd and it was disturbing enough it appears to have kept me from being able to achieve that level of consciousness ever since....strange!

But thank you for all the input everyone and if anyone has more, please feel free to post it. Thank you!

If I'm just gonna give a yes or no answer, I'd say no. It sounds too much to me like a dream. But, i don't know you or what you dream about to really offer more than that. I am of the thinking that if you were really abducted, you'd either definitley know you were, or you'd have no memory of it at all. Just IMO

lizzards...no orbs. And what I mean by never being able to achieve that level of consciousness again is.....I haven't been able to get myself into that half awake/half asleep state since the incident. It was a level of consciousness where I was aware of my body and aware I was awake but could travel and visit people and places astral projection)...it was like my body was asleep but my mind was still awake and because my mind was still awake I was still aware of my body lying in bed.....

But again...this last incident was different.

They do:

"There was a close relative of mine that was almost nabbed on the second floor in the winter time, late at night. They manifested the paralysis beam through the second story bathroom window. In complete silence outside, the white light was much brighter than that of a police helicopter searchlight and it completely illuminated not only the bathroom but also the adjoining master bedroom. Fortunately, she knew from our talks not to let herself come into contact with that light or she would become paralyzed, so she avoided it completely and was not abducted. The light went away, she checked for missing time and there wasn't any, and she eventually went back to bed."

This is a quote from Paul_Richard, a hypnotherapist and abduction expert, which you can see on page 4 of a thread titled "What are the signs that tell you whether you have been 'abducted' or not?", and the address is...

Countermeasures...never tried either substance. If I was younger, I probably would. I belive MDMA came out around the time I was 18 (and they didn't call it Exstacy then...) MDA came out before that right? I was 18 in 1981 so that was 24 years ago.....I would have injested just about anything in those days, but never tried those two.....
