“I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late,” Trump said. “I had already beaten all the senators and all the governors, and I didn’t know Steve. I’m my own strategist and it wasn’t like I was going to change strategies because I was facing crooked Hillary.”

but....

“I have known Steve and Kellyanne both for many years,”‘ Trump said at the time. “They are extremely capable, highly qualified people who love to win and know how to win.”

Additionally, PolitiFact points to a report from Real Clear Politics’ Rebecca Berg that claims Trump first met Bannon in 2011, while also noting that Trump appeared on Bannon’s talk radio program at least nine different times before Bannon came aboard as his campaign manager.

Why would Trump lie about something he knows full well is on record? How could he forget? Dementia or perhaps just makes up his reality like he tweets every morning. what's the point?

OMG, a politician lied? This is unprecedented.

Maybe it's horribly conditioning from society, but I'd be dumbfounded if one of these politicians started telling the truth.

As for this instance it seems pretty trivial.

One statement says Bannon didn't join his campaign until late.

The other statement says he's known him for many years.

There is no conflict in either of those statements.

Wait.. did he mean KNOW like in the biblical sense or KNOW like casual acquaintance??

I learned that distinction means everything during the Clinton years.

Of course we expect politicians to lie. But to lie in the face of evidence you know exists; that's a sign of mental instability.

dementia or psychosis...take you pick

The man is a pathological liar. He has zero integrity and will throw anyone under the bus.

He lies so much his own lawyers won't meet with him unless there's at least two of them there to verify or debunk his BS.

Good job voting this liar in office Trump supporters.

I don't think throwing Bannon under the bus is a good idea. Bannon is going to rat trump out on the Russian deal... mark my words.

There is no Russian deal.

That has been proven and confirmed, even by Trump's opposition.

In other news, Melania was just awarded 3 million in damages from the Daily Mail over their escort allegation.

Distraction much?

That's your defense? The bar is set so low for Trump by his supporters that it's now on the floor while they dig a hole to lower it even more.

Good job guys!

Huh?

Perhaps you want me to sit idly by and say nothing? I'm sure you weren't at all unhinged by Obama's 8 years in office?

Such hypocrisy.

But, when was he actually lying? This time or the previous time where he said he knew them for many years. Remember, knowing someone does not mean you are friends or even more than occasional acquaintances. I know a real lot of people but I do not know them other than seeing them or saying hi in the store or at functions..

Knowing someone is a very vague statement.

I'm not even defending anything, I'm calling out your snarky comment about giving thanks to his supporters for voting in a liar. Just thought it was really funny.
