I'm a massive home body. Now, I thoroughly enjoy myself when I am forced out, but getting me out is the problem. I have finally found a soul sister in the mother of one of my kids' friends, but then when we get together the kids are right there too and it makes it hard to chill. We can't talk about adult stuff, because kid ears hear EVERYTHING!

The food forum would probably be a good place to hang out. I love cooking, but I don't get to play in the kitchen as much since the baby was born
I have learned that boys (mine, don't know if it's a general thing) are much more demanding as babies than girls!

You are correct about my age, I'm 31. And saying that your girlfriend is your best friend is nothing to blush at! My husband is my absolute best friend! He makes me laugh all the time and has helped me morph into a much different person than I was 12 years ago. But I also feel bad for him, because he is my main adult contact. That puts a lot on his shoulders, which is why I want to branch out and make more connections. Connecting with others is so gratifying, and social interactions are necessary for our mental health. Don't worry y'all, I'm not crazy yet!

I will take digital friends any day of the week!!! And judging from your user name, i reside in the same area. (Though TN is a long state). Spring is here too, mixed with chilly days here and there. I'm ready to be over the cold snaps and plant a garden that will, hopefully, produce something!

Sorry you've had some struggles. I think I'm learning that is the stuff life is made of. I like to think that I handle the bad times with more grace than I once did. At least I know that they pass, eventually. And it also helps one to be more empathetic toward others that experience similar situations.

I know it's hard to let your babies have sleep overs, my oldest 10yr has only had sleep overs at 3 different places, one of which was my long time friends house and the other 2 are school friends but I met the parents many times before hand and had quite a few play dates which I was at too so I could get the vibe of the house and talk to the parents lots, she has also been on school camp for 4 nights which I hardly slept with worry. My oldest was 8 before her first sleepover. My youngest 5 has yet to have a play date.

Lucky you have such a great husband to talk to, my husband has english as his second language and a lot of the time we don't understand each other, so a lot of my day to day life and experiences I don't tell him about as he doesn't really understand what I'm talking about or he is thinking about what he wants to say and doesn't listen to what I'm saying.

Anyways hope your having a great day or night.a reply to: chelsdh

I would prefer someone who only occasionally acts like an adult. Laughter is too vital to deal with much "adultness".

Careful...

You start off innocently validating his point
Then two roofies later you wake up in a dog crate in his basement watching little house on the prairie with your eyes taped open clockwork orange style...

Its a slippery slope...

"I myself.... am strange and unusual"

Its a movie quote from Beetlejuice... Lydia Deetz said it.

I agree though, anyone who can quote Beetlejuice is at least entertaining.

I would also recommend "The Shed", whichever number we are on currently.

There are few places as warm and encompassing on this site!

Beetlejuice was one of the movies that made my childhood. And I aspired to have a red wedding dress like hers.... I did not tie the knot in a red gown, but I'll have one! One of these Halloweens I'm gonna be the best damn Lydia Deetz!

Beetlejuice was always one of my favorite Whack Pack members.

Oh I get out, but then I have 3 little people I'm trying to furiously watch and tell them to behave, and not touch anything, then the baby is pulling my hair and slapping at my face.... and I turn into a crazy person (but I guess I already was for trying to take them with me).

Actually, once the baby isn't so dependent on me it'll be easier. At the 'moment, I don't like leaving him for more than a couple hours because if he gets pissed (America meaning), I don't want anyone else having to deal with it. He's my kid, I shouldn't expect others to handle a angry baby.

Thanks for being my friend

For real- every time I go to the thrift store I check out the wedding gowns. I'm waiting for the prefect one to appear! I'm not sure what 80's style wedding dresses normally go for in a thrift store, but my goodwill wants $50 for one! (Which is actually a good deal on a nice Halloween costume.)

Maybe I'll actually post a picture when it finally happens. Who am I kidding, I'll be so thrilled I'll HAVE to share.
