Does that have anything to do with the NFL Networks' "A Football Life: Pat Tillman"? Because it's been running in loops on the NFL Network all day -- it's on now...
We leave tomorrow,'' Tillman wrote in a series of journal entries in Jon Krakauer's 'Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman,"
"This mission will be a P.O.W. rescue, a woman named Jessica Lynch. As awful as I feel for the fear she must face, and admire the courage I'm sure she's showing, I do believe this to be a big Public Relations stunt. Do not mistake me, I wish everyone in trouble to be rescued, but sending this many folks for a single low ranking soldier screams of media blitz. "

The propaganda form governments the world over is deep, dark, and stinky.
We at ATS find an article which fits or goes against our bias and post it with our opinions.. Some never once consider the article fake made up news or propaganda.. We are at a stage where those who have been around for a while (at least for me) do not truly believe hardly anything... but just accept the story being put forward is the company line the TPTB want you to believe especially if from a MSN organization like CNN, NYT, Washington Post etc etc.
Good post Op S&F an a few stars for the others who took the time to post their thoughts.
I guess I am cynical with any official story.. The Syrian gas attack being one of the latest. I had hoped Trump's administration would not be drawn into another BS set up and would work with the other parties to root out ISIS where ever they were found.. Joint effort... and all that would involve...but no.. here we are escalating a situation that can turn into a big pile of ca ca.
Tillman got screwed if any of the reports are correct about his actual death.. The rescue of Jessica from a hospital... WTG team !

Wow, thank you sir for all that info on Pat Tillman. I knew some of it, but most of it was new to me, thank you again. I finished Rory Fanning's book, Worth Fighting For. A few honorable men.
It's so easy to understand what you're saying because once upon a time a long time ago I was the Awards Officer for my unit in Vietnam. They construct so many stories, and the public buys it so easily, they're conditioned.

I'm not going down the road that includes my thoughts on what happened to Pat Tillman. It only leads to anger and rage, but that's a whole separate topic and I won't derail this thread on you.
Here's an interesting factoid regarding the Jessica Lynch "rescue"... aside from the entire thing being nothing more than a publicity stunt. Ironically, Tillman wrote in a surviving journal about the mission the day before it took place and called it even then.

abcnews.go.com...
But back to my original point, the interesting factoid regarding the mission to get Lynch. Most people in their mid 20's and older know who Jessica Lynch is in my experience. How many of you have ever heard the names 2 other soldiers, Shoshana Johnson and Lori Piestewa? Quick show of hands... anyone?
Shoshana was shot through both ankles and captured along with Pfc Lynch but held at a separate location because Lynch was more severely wounded and needed a much higher level of care and treatment than a couple of through and through. en.m.wikipedia.org...
Lori however didn't fair as well and sustained a severe head injury as she attempted to flee the firefight at a high rate of speed when the Humvee, also carrying Pfc. Lynch and Specialist Johnson, as well as,' I believe, 3 Other soldiers who were killed when the Hummer was hit by an RPG. Pfc. Piestewa died several hours after being captured because there was no way to perform complex neurosurgery in a war zone when the hospital is running on auxiliary power and intermittent generators.
So why then is all the focus on Pfc. Lynch? Was it a more wholesome PR sell when they're marketing a cute, young, blonde Caucasian girl. I know... and it's ok to bash that. But I'm sincerely not trying to pull the race card here. But the fact is, 3 women were injured that day and had survived the initial attack. Everyone knows Lynch. They know the little white girl who needed to be rescued by Special Operators. As I asked earlier, how many people have ever heard the name Shoshana Johnson? Shoshana actually put up a fight against their attackers (hence her being shot twice) where Pfc Lynch's weapon is said to have immediately jammed. She sent not a single round down the barrel and in her own words dropped to her knees in prayer. Pfc Piestewa was the first Native American woman to be killed in combat serving in the U.S. armed forces and the first female soldier killed in our poorly planned Boy Scout Jamboree over in Iraq. That sounds like kind of a bigger deal than "rescuing" a girl who was safely under the care of Iraqi doctors whom had been attempting to arrange to have someone come get her for a couple of days. So sending in a JSOC team with video cameras to capture the whole event... erm, I meant dating rescue of a critically needed soldier from within territory still controlled by
hostiles!
I just thought it might be of interest to anyone who wants to know more about how bizarre the entire debacle actually was.

I have since found an AP article that verified he was killed from -35 yards and with 3 shots to the head..
How do you get 3 headshots in a friendly fire incident???
One headshot from friendly fire ?? Easy no problem.. prob happens all the time.
Two headshots? Unlikely , but crazier things have happened.
3 headshot?!?!
I really try to avoid going to the max on conspiracies.. there are no mustache twirling villains. Just the full spectrum of self motivated individuals..
For instance, did the government orchestrate 911 or did it they just use it for Iraq and such??
I'm usually falling on the "they just milked it for all they could.."
But this is super fishy..
And if it was a squad mate with a personal problem, why did the government cover it up??

a common burst from a crew served weapon, like a M249, which surely would have been out on patrol that day. a few saws in a Ranger fire team is normal business. I would be more suspicious of a single gunshot, as if it were a ND or something. it happens.
combat can get crazy - blue on blue happens, sucks really really bad it happened to Pat, or any soldier I'd say. but it happens a lot. I honestly think he caught a saw burst to the head, sucks bad. but in a firefight you don't shoot single well aimed sight picture sight picture sight picture shots into the enemy. most soldiers ive seen don't even aim properly in a firefight.
