Just saw that the UN Security Council is in a live meeting being streamed. Ukraine is talking right now and just called on Russia to "stop making a mockery of this council."

Only been watching a couple of minutes and Ukraine has been talking the whole time so far. Wants the council to slow down and work together rather than be fractured.

Nikki Haley is talking now, here go the wardrums...

Haley: "Assad did this because he thought he could get away with it, and that Russia would have his back."
edit on 7-4-2017 by Shamrock6 because: (no reason given)

ETA again - Haley has now blamed Iran and Russia both for propping up Assad's regime and actions.

repeat of Invasion of Iraq justification, anyone?

Sure hasn't stopped Trump's representative from using the floor of the UN though, has it?

Because the people that got gassed aren't Assad's people.

Short answer: Assad's group is in the minority, the people that got gassed aren't part of that minority.

Watching Nikki talk brings back this bad memory......

The fact McCain is so happy about this is troubling to say the least.

I had hopes Trump would be different.

No, there hasn't. Not so much as a real investigation either, just "FULL STEAM AHEAD! LET'S MISSILE THE **** OUT OF THEM TO TEACH EM A LESSON" (which will really just provide more opportunities for the terrorist factions to recruit new fighters and escape would-be extermination from Syrian forces).

It doesn't make sense. He gassed his own people 1 day before a Peace Talk? You need to ask, "Who benefits"? Military Industrial Complex & Private Interest Groups influencing the Neocon "leaders"

PS F*** You John McCain!!!

Don't forget the South China sea... the US just so happens to send missiles into Syria (unprovoked and in violation of international), the same day Trump is meeting with the Leader of China... letting them know "The US Means Business!" What a crock of **** this whole thing is..

Perhaps President Trump has had a "change of heart" regarding our role in the United Nations too.

He's transitioned from seeing things trough the eyes of a Businessman, to that of a President of the U.S. very quickly.

Kudos to President Trump for being able to adapt on a dime!

The only thing I've heard is "because he can".
Which makes it sound like they're trying to tell everyone that Assad is truly the worst form of evil. Worse than a psychopath.....which doesn't make a lot of sense, because how then could he have support from anyone at all, ever?

Kudos to you for being able to crap on the UN because Trump did at one point then turn around and embrace the UN because maybe Trump isn't hating on the UN quite so much anymore, all in less than one page of one thread!
