Seems the U.S. has been very active with military strikes in Yemen.

A government report apparently confirms something like 70 airstrikes in Yemen from Feb 28th to April 2nd.

A little contrast to the missile strikes in Syria April 6th.

Yemen: Reported US covert actions 2017

The US carried out 70 strikes in Yemen between February 28 and April 2, according to Pentagon Spokesperson Navy Captain Jeff Davis. Twenty of these were conducted over the past weekend (April 1-2), and seem to have solely hit Shabwah province.

When will other countries take responsibility and contribute to this military campaign to help wipe out ISIS and other terrorist groups? We're not the only country who had terrorist attacks on our soil! This is just another example of the U.S. policing the world and sacrificing our men and women for the benefit of neighboring countries.

The jets and bombs the Saudis use to attack Yemen are US manufacture, too.

Have those millions of besieged Yemeni children died of starvation yet?

How come Ms. Haley isn't holding pictures of these children up in the UN?

The situation in Yemen is a lot different though. Yemen's former President was abandoned by his own party & nearly all of the country united w/the Houthis to oust him (the Houthis are Iran's allies). The former President, an ally of neighboring Saudi Arabia, resigned his position and left in late 2014 or early 2015. Then the Saudis and their allies had a talk with him, he took back his resignation, and then he officially asked them to help him regain his former position.

The Saudi-led alliance has been waging an atrocious war in Yemen ever since. Even though Saudi Arabia has one of the most expensive militaries on the planet, they're still losing or stalemating in Yemen. So they're simply getting our assistance in their war. There's a secondary story about one of the main Saudi Princes who's leading the war effort in Yemen, which includes his aspirations to leapfrog many other princes in the royal line of succession. It seems like his faction and backers will lose face if they fail there.

In theory, the US is fighting Al-Qaeda and other extremist groups like ISIS. Al-Qaeda's been there for decades & the US was doing drone strikes in Yemen long before the current war there. But it's also not a coincidence that ISIS didn't magically appear in Yemen until the Saudi war began there. Many articles in the region even say some Saudi powerbrokers (and American organizations) have brought in thousands of mercenaries to attack the Houthis, with many of those mercenaries coincidentally being or becoming ISIS-affiliates.

In short, there's no way we'll know for sure who the US is attacking in Yemen. The UK & US have been working extensively with the Saudis there, are selling major arms to the Saudis, and generally report stories about Yemen from the Saudi's perspective. In fact, they're rarely reporting anything at all about the situation in Yemen because it was supposed to be a short war yet it's quickly becoming Saudi Arabia's "Vietnam".

They are air strikes (in Yemen) against Al-Qaida - does the 'MSM' need to report on everyone of those carried out on foreign soil?

I'm not sure what xuenchen is implying, the attacks in Yemen are against a terorist group. The missile in Syria was against the Syrian state - against assets of a foreign government. The two aren't comparable, regardless of your opinion on either situation.

Its ok to sell weapons to others to use. the weapons are not responsible for who picks them up and abuses them.
And the quote from APoc now...total fiction but i see what you meant by using it.

The implications from the OP are far from obvious unless it's a pathetic attempt to point out that the US has been killing people in other places as well as Syria as though the media is making a big deal out of Syria in a mistaken assumption that it's the same as Yemen.

The US has stated that it (and other countries) are pursuing Al-Qaida in Yemen, if people have a taste for knowing about every missile launched, every bomb dropped and every bullet fired then they should canvass their media of choice.

Yemen is half shiite.

Saudi Arabia is majority sunni and sees shiites at the border as a threat.

SA is able to bomb the shiite out of Yemen quietly because the royals own and control much of the global media.

1) Yemen war launched by the EU and the British is practically a defeat at this point. More like a pointless genocide defeat

2) Maybe it's about time that somebody calls an emergency UNSC meeting on Yemen.
