I was on facebook, arguing with people, when this popped up on my page...

Strange bee petition

Seems there are people out there who are actively trying to stop us from killing the bee population.

The human race is sick and apparently no longer knows what's good for it and what's bad for it.

I was stang by a bee when I was about 13 or 14 and it was an incredibly painful experience. Seems to me the people signing this petition live in some bubble or fantasy universe. Nobody who has been attacked by a bee should sign this. As a recovering bee victim I find it disturbing that people are actively wanting to preserve these hideous creatures.

Can't people just let nature take its course? It's all part of the natural order, sometimes a species dies out. We shouldn't be interfering with nature, especially when it comes to creatures that can sting you.

Anyone who signs this petition is an idiot.

Have you ever heard the word, Pollination!

Without our friendly honey bees we would all likely die. They do the pollination work.

You are aware, are you not, that bees pollinate our plants... yes? Including our edible ones?

If the bee dies out, humans would not be far behind.

What? That's absurd.

We can pollinate ourselves. Bees can sting people, that's not good. Have you ever been stang by a bee? It's sore.

For heavens sake, the word is 'stung'.

Although if you need that ang sound, you could always say. 'Dang it, I was stung by that bee'.

Then announce that it hurt. We all know it hurts. The reason the bee stung you is because you tried to squash it with your big feet.

Bees have feeling too ya all know!

Oh dear. Please do a little research and find out how important bees are to the World.

I've handled many distressed bees, trying to help them find a source of food or shelter when they've been grounded. They've never attempted to sting me.

Endangering bees is about as reckless and irresponsible as people can get.

If one stung you I'd suggest you frightened it in some way. Try being calm around them in future and leave them to get on with their important work.

And well done for giving some publicity to the save the bee petition

I think everyone should sign a petition to save bee's because they are rather essential to the survival of so many species including mankind...

Einstein stated that within 4 years of the extinction of bees mankind would become extinct because of it...

So id have to say anyone whom promotes the demise of bees are quite frankly an idiot...

I never tried to kill it, you have no evidence of that.

I felt somethng tickle my neck and went to scratch it and it stang me on the finger, my mother was there at the time. It got stuck to my finger and my mother killed it.

I was crying then, later on the train, I was sick.

The bee was stuck to your finger when your mother killed it? Can we guess the bee was still attached to its stinger when your mother walloped it?

Because that would have really driven the stinger into your finger.

Tell you what, if there's ever a petition to save your mother from extinction I won't sign it.

That's pretty rude, you don't even know her.

She did what most parents would do when her child was in danger, she acted accordingly. Maybe if you'd been stang you'd understand.

You know what, save your precious bees, but don't come running to me when you get stang by one because I'll just laugh at you.

This thread's over.

Perhaps you could look up 'obsolete' and 'archaic' while you're at it

Where I come from, everyone says stang and always have because it's correct.

I'm not responsible for others' inability to accept that they're wrong.

I tried to sign the Strange bee petition and it wouldn't let me. I am not from the UK and apparently, I cannot be concerned with whether or not they save their bees. Or, whether or not they use Neonics as pesticides, which are known to be Bee killers...

Strange bee petition indeed..

You tried to sign it?

Why? Bro, have you ever been stang by a bee? It's incredibly painful.

Why is it that any time someone tries to do something good, something positive that we can all benefit from, some do-gooders try to scupper it?

This petition ought to be shut down.

I've been reading the OPs posting history. It's a bit late but I'd suggest people avoid following that link.

I think everything here is an innocent enough laugh, but better safe than sorry.

Dude, that's a bit harsh.

This is a genuine petition, you think I'd waste my time on this if it wasn't? What are you trying to suggest, that it's a trap or something?

All I'm concerned about is bees, bro.

Threats won't work, but this just shows their true nature.

Taking us with them...over my dead body they will.
