This is the opposite of the tone of Kerry who said Assad must go. The US realizes it is not worthwhile to have a war with Russia over Syria. Plus, the US is close to capturing Raqqa by cultivating SDF. That already gives the US a strong presence in Syria. Overall, a statement that lets the American public a sigh of relief. WW3 is averted, for good.

A little late seeing as how we funded the rebels that helped to destabilize the region to begin with. We've been in a proxy war with Syria for years now and have given their people little choice in the matter.

That all sounds good and well but I think of Libya and how the people therein with the help and arms and training support from the USA decided Qaddafi's fate. What a mess these last many years have been.

What a profound little sentence to feed the people. Anyone's guess what it really means. When all our troops are out of the middle east, then maybe we have avoided ww3. Watch your back.

That sounds like total/bad/sore loser talk coming from US that is, as they have repeated like mantra how Assad MUST BE KILLED and their actions have spoken even louder as in "BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY". Now that they see outcome of their arrogance, i guess its time to turn total lose as victory in the eyes of their followers.

Assad looks like true hero of todays world and in time even more so, he has said all along as answer for US mantra that how could he abandon Syria in time of warfare and that Syria will hold elections after he have defended Syria from invaders.

Not only the real goal will remain replacing Assad wth a western puppet. Thats all they want and why they keep heaping on the pain.

Guerrilla movements are directed at the people. The people it is hoped rise up and overthrow their gubment so it can be replaced. Only the replacement is now beholden to the guerrilla backers, in this case NATO, and the people are worse off for it.

Didn't work with Castro either.

So the Syrians will continue to be boiled in their own juices. Your tax dollars hard at work.

Assad was the Western Puppet leader. Syria used to be one of the most secular and stable countries in the Middle East. Obama & his globalist cronies wanted to replace him with a jihadist government, like what happened in Libya. They barely even made a pretense of trying help stop ISIS. They tried to do the same thing in turkey, but Erdogan threw the smack down on the coup forces.

As soon as Trump took office, US priorities in Syria did a complete 180° turn: Focus on crushing ISIS, worry about Assad later.

You're talking about his father. And yah, NATO is ruining the stability of the ME, since forever and, as we speak.
