Why not just go single payer and make everybody pay regardless how much they make. Deport the illegals, jail all the welfare frauds and we decent people would have a nice healthcare system.

You are wrong. It can and should be done.

Can and should is not a good reason.
$$$$ is the good reason, and it is also the reason it will take an act of God to make this happen.
A bi–partisan solution

How about set determinations and definitions for "pre-existing" conditions and give an option for Medicare.
No age limits. Part "B" (and supplemental) costs set by income.
Start there.

It will never happen. Congress is divided among party lines.
Really, your perspective is the way our congress is supposed to work! They should be putting party differences aside and taking the best parts of Obama Care and create a Health Care bill that will cover and benefit all Americans. Instead both sides only support bills that fall in-line with their party ideology.
They really don't care if they hurt a segment of the population like the elderly, middle class or the poor. It all comes down to making the insurance and pharmaceutical companies happy. As long as we have corporate money and influence in our government, and many of our representatives are established millionaires who receive better benefits than their constituents, the voice of Americans will never be heard!
I no longer hold much faith in our two-party system. It's too divisive and causes nothing but grid lock.

You will never get around allowing some one who does not preform a medical function, middlemaning your entire healthcare system...
They just move papers around and take 30% off the top... before drs, before nurses...hell even before the big pharma companies...
That's why everyone else has stopped using insurance companies..
They have always been a scam.. their profits 100% depend on denying service and people who pay in, but never actually use the policy.
How is trump attacking the private prison system , when his AG just said he was gonna go after recreational pot?!?!
That is the prison systems biggest cash cow and lobbying point.. more people are in jail for pot THAN ALL VIOLENT CRIMES COMBINED!!!

All hands on deck for the simple solution to this problem.
A bi–partisan solution
Keep the best of Obamacare such as no preconditions and parents insurance on kids to 26.
Keep also the part where the poor are subsidized to the levels they are now…Maybe increase them a bit and give more middle class peopel better subsidies
Moderate price controls on the health care industry and health insurance rates
A Rand Paul idea to gather massive pools of the uninsured rather like their all work for one employer. That would lesson the price tremendously through a pool like a job
Negotiate rates with the Drug industry on prices something Trump supports
Make Medicare available to people at 62 or 63
Great ideas that will work, not too radical or not too conservative

What "best parts of Obamacare"? How is bossing around insurance companies, doctors and pharmacies going to do anything other than to breed resentment for the patients and government?
I have a better idea.
1) Scrap the individual mandate.
2) Anyone who can prove that they can get by without using health insurance is 100% exempt from ALL taxes. Either pay for your own bills out of pocket, use alternative medicine, fix your diet and lifestyle, whatever you gotta do to make it work. Get creative.
3) Third-party payers would then be reserved for those with prexisting conditions that cannot be managed/resolved by lifestyle changes, and for people with catastrophic/terminal illnesses.
At this point, the overwhelming majority of people who are overwhelming the system have lifestyle related diseases (hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, inflammatory related auto-immune diseases, depression, cancers)...many of these are reversible and avoidable by a simple change in diet and lifestyle, SO WHY NOT REWARD THE ONE'S WHO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN HEALTH???
The lifted tax burden will empower them to live healthier lives

I am old enough to remember that going to a doctor was a business transaction and not a so called "right". What happens in my theory is that there are rich doctors and poor doctors. This will mean that the poor will get less care than the wealthy - which is not optimal. However, at this time what seems to matter is that the middle man make more money than anyone and everyone gets good care, but they go bankcrupt in the process.
