Probably a wise choice my friend. I've considered getting away from the TV, and computer and just focusing on reading, and other stuff. What are we really missing right??

I thought I'd never give up the telly. My digital antenna broke over a year ago. I even tried that youtube trick of using an old power transformer as an antenna (worked a little, no better than a coat hanger on an old terrestrial signal, meh) so I've been tv free over a year.

I still watch as many documentaries on youtube, or *ahem* other means, but I have seen more things that bring my interest up in the last year or so, than decades of mindless *this is what you should think* tv.

I say this. GO TV FREE.. BURN THE TV.

I can still stream it, but every time, it's utter bollocks.

tv is done I say. let the zombies have it.

Don't know if this is the same or not but lately sometimes when I am traveling down a frequently traveled stretch of road I look around and can't immediately place where I am or if I am even on the right road. It eventually turns out I am but I have no recollection of passing the familiar things that would let me recognize where I was. I just chalked it up to inattention but hey who knows.

Funny because this has been happening to me now and then for the last few months. I mean I'll be driving down a road that I've driven down frequently for more than 10 years and suddenly I look around and I don't recognize a thing! At first I thought omg... it's Alzheimer's! then I thought no... maybe it's because I've traveled this road so often I just zone out. But it feels like something more peculiar.

Perception of time is readily influenced by a person's emotional state.

And that emotional state need not be excessive to have an influence.

Safe to say that world events have many people more on "edge", to one degree or another, than might be considered "baseline".

People, especially those who might frequent a site like this, might be expected to resonate with the increased anxiety of the "Zeitgeist".

Here's something I noticed. For the past several month, every device in my life reads a different time but they are only different by 30 seconds or so. I never noticed that before, seems like at least my cell phone and satellite radio in my car always read the same exact time. Me and my husband have the same exact phone, carrier, etc. and we're off by almost a minute. My personal computer, work computer, digital clock, time on the TV, time on XM radio, cell phone time and even my Fitbit time... not one of them will sync up and display the same time.

I don't want to put a downer on this whole thing because I partially am very interested in the ME and time in itself. I am aware of time being relative to each person and that in effect it may not even exist at all and all our lives are static figures we just become aware at any time along the figure, believing that we have got there by 'flowing' from start to finish. We would believe the same if we [unknown to us] would just jump around our lives. It wouldn't feel any different.

Having said that. I have noticed something that is even more scary than time slips or MEs.
And that is the amount of kids or gullibles who take this up and go completely mental with it. We have to remember that most people in life seem to be easily manipulated and will believe anything.
There is a large amount of flat earthers, chemtrail believers and so on, who have never read a [science] book in their life, have no relevant experience in the fields and literally just go by youtube videos, which they take as gospel.
[It has always been that way, see how religion has a hold on the same kind of mindset].

I have been around this world for a while and we used to even talk about weird things to do with time back in the 80s. You had to get books out to learn anything about it, which forced me to read pop-science books and they taught me a lot.

All these penomena, the ME, time slips have always existed. I honestly can't say that it has increased.
What has increased however is the rate of spreading to the 'common' man. We have the internet and anyone, mad or not, can go on youtube and spout whatever they want and thousands of people, will lap it up and share it.

This is dangerous, very dangerous. As there will always be those that can't handle stuff like that. They have no knowledge to compare this to and believe it to a point of going mad. It shouldn't be like that.
[We had the same with Ouija boards at the time].

I worry about easily impressionable people and how they react to something that a) has always been around and hasn't hurt us and b) making up more and more crazy stories to accomodate this phenomenon [we are now getting an elite that fiddles with time on purpose, the matrix is broken, aliens are messing with our programming, CERN are evil overlords and not particle scientists etc].

What if...
What if this is just a scientific phenomenon and all it does is get people more aware that time may not be what we have always thought?
What if the internet helps us gather some [decent] data from all around the world, enough to make physicists aware of it and causes them to include it in their studies?
What if we are awakening to a new dawn of knowledge that has previously been ignored because of lack of data?

What if it is really interesting, scientifically, and we learn more and more about life, the universe and everything?
What if it is a step towards enlightenment of the human race?

I watch and read comments on the ME and I feel sick. They are pre-emtying any doubts by saying they are more empathic than others and that those that don't 'feel' it are not as insightful as them. Then they discuss the most outlandish theories as if they are real.
That is what you get when you allow anyone, from any background and with any IQ to discuss these things.

Just thought I'd bring it down a notch.

No. My perception of time may change from day to day, depending on what I have been doing with my mind and body, depending on my neurochemical situation, but the passage of time does not speed or slow, only how I perceive it on a given day, in a given moment.

Someone shot down the Higgs at CERN, and Trumps health care replacement proposal was seen as just an exercise in tap pulling. Looks like a down day on wall street today.

With all your study into this subject I was curious how you think neural networks may apply to the Mandela Effect?

Looking into how the brain works is amazing, and the good thing about ME's is that it encourages people to learn how we think.

I think you are right. I think it is more our mental and emotional conditions that are causing us to perceive distortions, in all things, including time.

Everyone I have conversed with lately complains to two things, fatique and time distortions. I think the two are very much related.

The one thing they don't usually talk about, but I have noticed, especially in myself, is a lack of patience. I have always prided myself on my increased level of patience. Even though I am an old lady, I am the one they would ask to take care of the children, because I was the one that would take my time with children, talk with them, teach them, listen to them.

My mother lives with me and I care for her, or should I say we care for each other. I used to have the patience of the saints, but lately, not so much. I immediately recognize when I am acting out of character, and then I feel guilty. I have started watching a particular youtube video that helps keep me grounded, that helps remind me of who I used to be.

God has also blessed me with the company of my 20-year-old cat that can't see very well anymore, and who has Alzheimer's. He also reminds me of how time changes us all, and his champion ways of dealing with his frailties makes him a constant source of comedic relief.

Sparrows keep showing up as a grounding presence in my life. I will share the video as it may be helpful for someone else. I used to cry everytime I saw it, but now it just helps me be steadfast.

I look at these things also, and I have to ask myself, what is the end game? When you add all the puzzle pieces together, what picture becomes clear? Do we even have enough of the pieces to know if it is space or sea?

Are the number of movies and commercials that promote the idea that time and space are flexible and controllable, playing off something that we believe, or something that they want us to believe.

How do you destroy a system of beliefs and replace it with a new set, without driving the masses mad?

Are we driving or are we being driven?

A FIRST for me last night. Watched the last half of NCIS Los Angeles (CBS) on a TV at the hospital. Drove home. Turned on the TV (CBS), and that SAME EPISODE of NCIS Los Angeles was 5 minutes away from ending again. WEIRD!

My take on these phenomenon leans mostly toward what the WORD of God had spoken concerning the earth eventually wobbling like a drunkard (Isaiah 24:20). If in deed the melting of the ice at Antarctica and the Arctic is happening, and these do serve as ballast for keeping the earths rotation from pitching (towards the equator) and yawing towards Siberia, influence of time perception and electromagnet fluctuations should be manifesting.
Of course I only have remedial knowledge of these topics, and would suggest that some of our more scientific minds like Phage and Stereologist could look into these things.

Stupid question, Is this considered a time slip? > While cleaning and milling around the house, I have had about 4 or so times in the last two weeks that I have checked the time and go into a different room, look at a different clock and it would show 30 to 45 minutes earlier than it was when I looked at the clock in the other room. The clocks are all set the same.
I thought I was just overly tired or maybe not seeing well. but when it happened again yesterday I decided to look into it. Clicked open ATS today and here you are talking about it. Freaky!!
