I saw this on Yahoo today, it is interesting and this official is not afraid to say what happened. He states clearly that what happened overall is illegal. www.yahoo.com...

Wonder why Yahoo tries to conceal the fact that this is from Fox News Insider.

At any rate, Lt. Col. Schaffer is yet another person giving an opinion.

Again I will ask, where is the evidence?

The opinion of someone who actually worked in intelligence is way better than your opinion I feel. You have no real proof or crudentials to say that this guys opinion is unfounded. I would trust this guy more than you. Not everything on Fox is bs.

LOL. You are free to choose to follow whatever opinions you like, obviously. There's a ton of evidence out there that states, clearly, that there is no proof that President Obama ordered surveillance, legal or illegal, of Mr. Trump, including the testimony of the CURRENT Directors of the FBI and the NSA before Congress.

You're vainly trying to appeal to authority. You can "believe" what you want. You didn't even bother to expand on the article or trace the article to it's source: you identified something from the Yahoo aggregator.

Since you want to make it personal though, I'd probably believe an old gypsy woman reading tea-leaves over Fox infotainment.

Have they found "Judge" Napolitano yet?

YMMV.

Daily Intelligence Briefing. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance. It's pretty self explanatory and part of FISA.

So no evidence then.

Ad hominem attacks on the source a common for many people on the left.

Bob woodward was on fox news too, I guess everything he said was BS as well, to gryphon.

Bob Woodward stated that leaking confidential information is illegal.

Did you need Bob Woodward to tell you that?

So do you have a rebuttal to the other information provided in the yahoo article or is it just not true, because russians... I mean fox?

There's no "information" aside from opinion in what Lt. Col. Schaffer said.

I didn't address the truth or falsehood of what he claimed; I just stated the obvious fact that what he said is merely his opinion.

I see you are silent on any evidence to back up your own claims regarding the topic; why is that?

Would you rather not talk about evidence now, since it's clear you don't have any?

Let's be clear, you're asking me to reveal classified information on ATS. And anything short of that means there's no evidence.

Let's be even more clear ... you don't have anything to back up your claims.

It's okay, you can just admit it.

I have to say, it's a good tactic to keep your safe space, safe. Set the bar for evidence so high that it's not possible to clear it without incriminating oneself.

You never answered my question; If it turns out a FISA warrant does exist (targeting trump through foreign contacts), can you admit that it looks really bad for the Obama administration?

It has nothing to do with these mundane catchphrases about "safe spaces" ... the only thing at question here is whether or not there is any evidence, to date, that proves or even substantiates to any degree, President Trump's tweets.

There isn't, and you seem obsessed with trying to cover that fact up.

If it turns out that there is a FISA warrant targeting Trump operatives, then they're part of an investigation. Given the considerable amount of evidence available that suggests that several Trump associates have had untoward relationships with foreign governments ... I don't see how the FBI or DOJ would "look really bad" for doing their jobs.

Fortunately for every American, that's not how FISA warrants work. Your ignorance is showing.

This really highlights the willful ignorance of most of the people I meet who fall on the left side of the political spectrum. They don't understand why laws function the way they do so they can't see why they should be upset when they're abused. The exception, oddly, being tax law.

Okay, demonstrate your brilliance and explain it to us, rather than just taking an opportunity for a snide, pointless comment.

Are you saying that FISA warrants aren't court orders? That they can't target Americans that have been compromised by working as agents for a foreign power?

Please, I'm willing to learn ... enlighten us.

Hold up one second, do you have evidence that Trump or his associates were compromised and working as agents for a foreign power? That's a startling accusation!

Let's go back to FISA warrants which you claim I don't understand.

Who are they issued against? Are they not issued by the FISA court? What is my mistake that you want to desperately spin into political baiting nonsense.

Stay focused.

You only hear what you believe and twist what you read to fit your beliefs. This is common in some people, they cannot see what is being said. You have to look at things neutrally to find the truth. Wiretapping was the wrong word to use by trump, and the White house did not order the investigation but they were very aware it was happening. What they did there was legal, but what they did with the information by unmasking and releasing it to people was not legal.

That is all that guy says in that video. Your beliefs are blocking your comprehension of things. Information is interpreted by your beliefs and the knowledge you want to believe is real when you read, hear, or see it. The people running things understand this, they capitalize on it.

Wake up already. Maybe you benefit financially by saying the things you say on this subject, maybe that is your job.

No, they don't have to be. The president can authorize them for up to one year, with no court approval.

Who are they issued against?

Foreigners OR American's where "probable cause" exists that they are agents of a foreign power.

I put probable cause in quotations because it's not really required. The standard is so low it's almost non-existent.
